Great value for money for $10 lunch. Had the schnitzel and I could not fault it, the best bit was the beer battered chips (absolutely amazing). I cannot wait to return and try all the lunch specials! I am intrigued to try the nacho wrap.

Our burgers were reasonable but the steak sandwich was dry and bland. The fish was not fresh and the chips were average. The range of beers on offer is just enough to keep the players in the "VIP Lounge" happy. The great disappointment was the service. The kitchen staff looked like they were doing their best but the front or house service was atrocious. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for meals at 3pm on a sunday afternoon after being told the wait would be 30 minutes. We had 5 kids with us and were not offered so much as a bowl of chips to keep everyone calm. The service staff, including the manager did not demonstrate any concern whatsoever. SMH GPFG rates this as a 16/20. The only thing I can think is that the TAB must be involved in that production because this place should rate 11 or 12 at most.

Food was average, for basic pub food it was very poor. I had the hamburger and the meat patty was not even seasoned, no salt and pepper or onion just a slab of mince with no flavor. The penne with chorizo, tomato and chilli which should be an easy dish to make was bland and disappointing. The service was slow and we had to wait over an hour for our meals to arrive.

How a pub can get such simple food so wrong is beyond me. The schnitzel had the consistency of leather and the salad was fridge fresh. Chips were swimming in garlic.

..At least they got the beer bit right.

I have been to this wonderful old pub many times its child friendly garden with playground is great for a sunday lunch and few drinks with the family.
