Its quite nice. Been a few times as I work in the city, always seems busy and the food is quite nice. A little dear, but I think its ok value.

I enjoyed the Pizza here, quite tasty. And the service was friendly and relaxed. The only major problem I have with Macchiato is the decor is ultra modern and kind of ugly, and it makes the experience less relaxing than it should be as a result.

Had eaten here once before and the pizza was great. This time around it was extremely noisy and the wait staff were a little frosty. Entertainment voucher made it worth while. Food was quite good again.

Ate here with a friend, we both had steaks which was average for something that was $30 and didn't taste like grain fed, lucky we had entertainment vouchers. The waiter didn't even know if lemon and lime softdrink had alcohol or not, they also forgot to give us steak knifes to eat steak.

Sooooo expensive! Came here for a casual work lunch, food was average, nothing special, and certainly not worth the price. Is always busy at lunch, the pizzas price around $17-$20 but aren't big. Had the Athens pizza which had lamb and haloumi cheese - the lamb was disgusting, fatty as anything. I had to pick them off my pizza. Wouldn't go back.

Don't understand why this place is so popular? Service was terrible. Ignored several times by the waitress. We brought our own wine and they couldn't even be bothered to cork it open it for us until asking several times.
The entree arrived when the main meals were to arrive, although my main meal was missing. A mistake on their part, they blamed a waitress and said she was new. Was offered no discount? By the time my Spaghetti Marinara arrived, my partner's meal was cold. The Napolitana sauce was tasteless and watered down. My partner's Mac meal of chicken and lamb was dry and spiceless. It wasn't even worth the wait.
The Restaurant itself was smokey and the fumes were stinging my eyes. Total bill came to $90.20 - and that's exactly what we paid, no tips deserved! An unsatisfactory Anniversary dinner for my partner and I. We won't be back..

I have walked past this place many times curious to try yet it was always bursting with people with no empty tables in sight. Finally, a vacant table one lunch time allowed us to give this popular eatery a go. Well its no wonder it's chockers all the time. The food is simply beautiful. Tastiest risotto I have eaten in a long time (served with two giant field mushrooms) and the chicken parmigiana was excellent. Oh and did I mention the servings are huge??? Could barely finish what was on our plates. The service was charming and friendly, you could feel the passion the staff and owners have for this restaurant. Did not have to wait long at all for our meals even though every table was occupied with diners. Yes, it is noisy due to concrete floors, not the greatest venue to make conversation, but you will be too busy eating anyway. Will definetly be back.

My partner and I had a meal on week night during the evening. It was fairly busy, occupied by a mixture of tourists and suits, catching up on after hours business over a glass of wine. The atmosphere was quite lively, there was a musician playing away (pretty able if I remember) although the lighting was a little dim. I went for one of the wide selection of pizzas and have to say it was excellent. 2 main courses plus drinks cost us around $60 which for Sydney is perhaps a little above average (we didn't order wine) but the food was worth it. Service was capable although we had to wait a while for payment to be taken at the end. Worth a look if you are in the area.

Have eaten at Macchiato a few times now. Have personally always enjoyed my meal there as has everyone else in the group (between us we have had the lasagne, lamb shanks, risotto, portugese chicken, pizza, steak). The prices are very reasonable and the servings always generous. I can understand why some people think the service is below what is could be but this is sometimes a reality of dining in a very busy and popular restaurant. I have never waited an unreasonable amount of time for my meal.

Seems like some other diner is trying to rubbish this restaurant by dumping comments. There are some that are never satisfied if things dont transpire exactly the way they want. Yes this place is busy because of the location and its loud because of glass windows and concrete floors. But if you can tell me how they managed to purposefully be rude to you i still wouldnt believe you. My experience at this place wasn't fine dine and nor did i think it should be. The staff were very busy but very friendly. If you look through all the comments friendly is definitely part of its nature. The food portions were large and the quality of produce is great. i've eaten at this place many times now that i've moved into the area. I must admit i've read a few comments about other places on the eatability.com site that were not so good. But i was not to ignorant to try something new. All i can really say is that some people must be very unlucky when they dine because i dont think ive ever had as much drama as i have read in peoples coments on this site. Im now of the opinion there are some people that can get there order really wrong but are kind enough to see that staff can be genuinely sorry and can respect that. And then there are also people whom are so hooked on themselves and feel violated if they are served second even though they are second. As for macchiato city, its a great place to eat for birthdays, get togethers with friends or if you really want a big tasty good value meal. Dont expect anyone to poor your wine even though ive seen it done but you can expect very friendly and good service. Dont be dissolusion by the previous poster because the food is great. Even they thought so. I mean they still gave a 3 for food after such a 'bad experience' I feel sorry for the previous poster/s ;) because they must really have some internal issues to deal with.
