Having had a good experience here several years back, I decided to come back using the Entertainment Vouchers. Not a good experience unfortunately: whilst the food arrived quickly, it was hard to get the waiter's attention, and his grouchy demeanour didn't help for the noisy atmosphere, overpriced food in terms of portions/quality and general lack of care or customer service.
The service is really Awful! I organise with 6 people to dine there last friday on 28th Sept 2007 as me and my friends have the Entertainment Book Vouchers. The food did not take long to arrive (that's the good thing). Sometime they are really slow as have been there a few times. We had a few pizza's and a few other dishes. The ambience is disappointing! Don't know why it is quite popular. Anyway we asked for the bill and presented 3 vouchers. The bill took at least 20 minutes to arrive and when I got it the asian girl said only 2 vouchers can be used for 6 ppl.
I told her that 3 should be accepted for 6 ppl as per the book conditions. She went and came back saying that she checked with her senior staff said that max is 2 vouchers for 6 ppl. I was shocked as I know the rules and while she was going I asked if it's really coming from the senior staff. She didn't reply and keep walking. How rude!!! A few minutes later her senior staff came and said the same thing.
I told him he is not right and he asked me to show him evidence, I said I don't have it (what the hell!!! as if ppl will bring it with them???) and I asked him to show me his where it says that it cannot be used. He didn't answer (obviously he doesn't have it either) and said he was only told that is the case! I didn't argue but will not go there again, they like to argue to rip you off. The service is really Bad!!!
Ambience is terrible - brought our own wine and had to ask three times for glasses, and waited over 30 mins. Ordering took as long, however the food came out instantly. Food was nice, not great.
I had an angel hair dish with tomato and seafood, it was delicious. I saw my friend's pizzas, they looked really good as well. The only thing is, it is a bit pricey. I won't go there except for the fact that I had the Entertainment voucher helped to make the prices much fairer. The service was good, the wait staff was quick and attentive. This place can get busy so probably not a good place for romantic dinners.
I enjoyed the Pizza here, quite tasty. And the service was friendly and relaxed. The only major problem I have with Macchiato is the decor is ultra modern and kind of ugly, and it makes the experience less relaxing than it should be as a result.
Had eaten here once before and the pizza was great. This time around it was extremely noisy and the wait staff were a little frosty. Entertainment voucher made it worth while. Food was quite good again.
Ate here with a friend, we both had steaks which was average for something that was $30 and didn't taste like grain fed, lucky we had entertainment vouchers. The waiter didn't even know if lemon and lime softdrink had alcohol or not, they also forgot to give us steak knifes to eat steak.
Sooooo expensive! Came here for a casual work lunch, food was average, nothing special, and certainly not worth the price. Is always busy at lunch, the pizzas price around $17-$20 but aren't big. Had the Athens pizza which had lamb and haloumi cheese - the lamb was disgusting, fatty as anything. I had to pick them off my pizza. Wouldn't go back.
