Had lunch here mid-week and ordered a pizza. The pizza is a crispy woodfired one with a thin base and it was delicious. It is not cheap though and there is only (medium) size but it does taste good.
Service was polite and efficient but no one went that extra mile to ask if sides, entrees etc were required. But I wasn't really concerned about that as it was only a break from work. I'd go back for another pizza during lunch.
I've been to this place lots of times, with mixed degrees of satisfaction post-meal.
Their staff aren't very friendly and lack a desire to help you. They are also not very attentive at all. I sometimes have to wait a bit before they realise I'm standing there waiting to be seated! One of them also has a habit of slamming plates/cups onto the table, I attribute that to his stress and inability to realise what he's doing can be quite rude.
I think nothing's really worth it there, it is overpriced for what it is. If you do go, I would only recommend ordering the pizza. Everything else is not really that great!
When you go there, expect for a long wait until you get their food. They are often very busy, though I'm not sure why the management can't figure out a way to make things more efficient so that customers don't have to wait that long.
Why would you still go to this place despite its poor management and staff? Because there's nothing else to eat in the city! Sydney is lacking in quality and tasty dining options, Melbourne is so much better in this aspect.
Yes and I probably wouldn't go here without some sort of discounting device, eg Entertainment Card. It wouldn't be worth it otherwise.
I will never go back to this place again. The platter of seafood I ordered was extremely oily and tasteless, calamari rings were soft like they had been pre-fried for hours and chucked cold on the plate. The steak, despite asking for med-rare, was well and truly cooked through, and burned. There was a rich film of oil on the plate which was half finished, yes, I couldn't even finish it.
We were there on a friday night, so, perhaps, it was the busyness...but there is no excuse for awful food like that. Just in case you think I'm a fussy eater, I think pub food is fabulous and this was nowhere even close to that. No idea why there is a line at the door!
I have been to this place a couple of times, and both times it's been way below average. The staff do not listen to a thing you say. I ordered a pasta with no parmesan, it came out and was covered in it. Asked for Herb bread, they brought out pesto bread, asked for a mineral water, they gave me a lemon lime and bitters. After complaining, they referred me to the staff who couldn't be bothered listening to me.... kept talking to someone else while I was talking to him. I seriously can't understand why this place is so busy all the time.
Wow! I guess its hard to please everyone. I came on friday night and it was packed. I can't complain for not getting seated soon without a booking. I eventually did after 30 minutes. There was 5 of us. We had a macchiato pizza, lamb shanks, spaghetti beef, greek salad and another pizza with prawns. We thought everything went as good as it could have and the food was incredible.
Had I read the comments on this site first I may never have gone. I also can see that most unhappy people are entertainment users so value would never be good.
My feed back is great restaurant, great food, value is good. Go to qld and see the prices up there. Now that's expensive.
Also I don't think I'd trust this site again for other peoples negative feed back. I'll stick with the good ones.
After reviewing the comments here in this site, we dared not to try too many other stuff but just stick with pizzas and they are great. We had Athen pizza and Macchiato pizza. Nicely done with fresh ingredients. Its a tuesday night as well. Maybe they weren't too busy and it helped. Used EB card which turns out good value otherwise its a bit overpriced.
I just don't know how restaurants like this can still attract diners when the food is overpriced and below average. On top of that, you get better service at the local KFC.
The food is nothing to rave about at all. A hotchpotch of flavourless dishes which try to be Italian. With semi-fine dining prices, the restaurant pretends to be something that it is not. Poor service, poor food and a poor experience by diners equals a restaurant that one should try to avoid.
Our fault for not booking but their fault for telling us the wait was 15min but ended up waiting over an hour without so much as a "you'll be seated soon". By that point we were fed up and complained to the staff about him seating a group of 4 who arrived half an hour after we did. We were rebuffed rudely and told to "move out of the way" as he was very busy and had many customer to attend to.
We obviously left because one pays to eat out for the good food and more importantly good service. The standard of that place has plummeted during the last year. My guess is change of management coz that place used to be excellent.
Having had a good experience here several years back, I decided to come back using the Entertainment Vouchers. Not a good experience unfortunately: whilst the food arrived quickly, it was hard to get the waiter's attention, and his grouchy demeanour didn't help for the noisy atmosphere, overpriced food in terms of portions/quality and general lack of care or customer service.
