We used to visit when it was Hennessy's on Harris and had booked for brunch, not realising it had changed hands. Very disappointing unfortunately. Twice our coffee orders were wrong, even after clarification, and then our food order was wrong and incomplete. The table wobbled and our waiter couldn't offer a solution, we ended up using one of our napkins to chock the legs up, without his help. The waiters didn't seem to understand simple orders and needed to keep asking for clarification, and the toilets were grotty. The food was OK, but not enough to bring us back.
The changes this restaurant made are amazing, it's more classy and lovely to dine there.
Lunches are very good as you have a wide range to choose from whether you feel like something light or something heavy. They seem to be open a long time too which is good for taking an early/late lunch break.
It is also very nice going for dinner on the weekend. They have a good choice of Mediterranean dishes as well as more Australian dishes. The value is pretty good considering it does not cost too much for a decent meal that is filling.
Short walk to Luxor on Saturday night for dinner. Mezze plate entree OK but not special. Main of lamb fillet again just OK and John Dory OK. The restaurant tries to be many things and would benefit by limiting its menu to one cuisine rather than trying to cover many. The floor staff tried hard but could benefit from some more training. A disappointing night out but we will give it another try in the hope that it is only early days yet.
Wow how this place has changed, I haven't been for a while and what a surprise when I returned to find it had undergone an extreme makeover, especially love the open kitchen so you are able to see where your food is coming from. The ambience has really improved and the staff look much happier in the new setup.
We had the mezze platter and Arabic bread with dips and I could really taste the dips were homemade. For mains I had the grilled Spatchcock which was topped with the most refreshing cucumber yoghurt dressing and my partner had the Mexican fajita which was spectacular when it was set alight at our table. All was topped off with the homemade tiramisu and a chocolate brule.
What a perfect evening we had. Will definitely be returning more often especially when they have entertainment, on a Friday or Saturday. Highly recommend this new restaurant.
