We have been here a few times and each time just got worse until we finally gave up. It was a place that was raved about by a friend but we could never really see the 'hidden gem'.
It certainly needs an overhaul in terms of appearance, and while the service is friendly to begin with, if you ask a question about the food, suggest something about the quality of the food, or make an alteration to the pizza topping, expect to be blasted with insults.
The pizza is not nearly as good as other places, and while I have heard good things about the garlic prawns, I haven't dared try them.
Pizza not bad but better and cheaper on Enmore Rd, place looks tired and is horribly hot inside, feels like 1994! needs a massive overhaul as there are far better options both in price and quality on King Street
As a Newtown local, Lucky's is a regular destination for pizza. The pizzas are awesome - loaded with toppings. Best if you go for those that are a bit unique to Lucky's, like the Siciliana which has ricotta cheese & spinach with red onion topping and is a winner every time.
Service is super friendly, expect to be called 'darling'. It can get really hot near the pizza ovens in summer and you wouldn't go there for the decor, but the pizzas are worth it. BYO makes it good value.
This is still the best pizza in the Newtown area. It's a small place that can get quite noisy, but service is OK and pizzas are nearly always good. Not cheap but OK value.
