My boyfriend and I save money in a special account and go to a new restaurant every 6 weeks. What a shame that we came here! It's not awful but it's been a couple of weeks and I can't remember what I ate. I think that the term is lack-lustre and when you add the price tag, incredibly dissapointing. Hopefully we'll do better in a few weeks!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Lucio’s on Valentine’s Day. It was excellent in every way. The food superb in presentation and taste, the staff were very professional and pleasant. However, as my hairdresser predicted the time between first and second course was only 8 minutes as we were given a two hour time slot, but surprisingly we didn’t feel too rushed. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Delicious little partridge, delicious black handkerchief pasta, delicious tagliolini... just superb. If you visit the bathroom during your stay, have a read of the wine testimonials. ;) Definitely recommend.

Food was way overpriced, nothing memorable but was fresh, service was very mediocre - such forced smiles, value wasn't there. Would we go back - not at all. Overall score 5/10. Come on wait staff we know you work there almost every day but the idea is to make your diners feel welcomed and excited about eating there - its their first time - you didn't do that. Perhaps because you've been around so long you've become rather complacent all round catering to customers who've visited before instead of capturing the new generation of diners who can also afford such prices. Good luck!

Went to Lucio's to celebrate a work promotion, mate for a 2 hat restaurant the food was not great at all. It was a week night so it was not that busy, so no excuses. Very expensive no wines 330 for the two of us. Very disappointing, I do not recommend this restaurant. I think this good food guide is a lot of bull!

Very enjoyable, classical Italian food in a sublime village location just 5 minutes from the city. This place has been going forever and I love that it's the same owner with the same dedication all these years. Bit exxy but then he's got the reputation, the history and the sense of occasion to match.

In a market of next-gen, too cool for school attitude, plasticware, stoneware, wooden plates, bare timber, steel tables, there is a classic where the owner maitre d' welcomes you, takes your coat and seats you while warmly chatting to you on the way, where owners son serves you in a warm and informed style and where you get what you order, a classical and delicious Italian fine-dining food.

Lucio's is such a rarity and a national treasure.

I went to Lucio’s with my Husband and his parents 2 weeks ago to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday. It was a Saturday, booking for 7 pm, and surprisingly the restaurant was very empty at this time, its pick up around 8.30 and had a bit more of a buzz.

Upon entry you immediately notice the restaurants Art work and character and it makes for a good talking point even if you are not in to art! On the whole our experience was pretty good, but I didn’t feel the restaurant lived up to its 2 chef hat reputation. The waiters were far too attentive, and made me feel very uncomfortable, standing always a couple of metres away and constantly circling the table.

At one point, I actually turned around and said we are Ok, you don’t need to linger! I don’t feel there is no need for our glasses or water or wine to be topped up after a few sips. Now to the food. I had the duck which I thought would be a winner at this restaurant, but I was very disappointed. There was something about the flavours that didn’t work and didn’t make it enjoyable. I didn’t finish my meal, and thought I might as well save room for dessert.

Having said that, my father-in-law loved his Lamb dish and mother-in-law and husband both got the Pasta special, which they raved about! The meal ended on a good note, with desserts enjoyed by all. Nothing out of this world, but all yummy. A small plate of biscotti and mini cheesecakes were also presented to us at the end of the meal.

The only reason I would return to this restaurant is to try one of the pasta dishes, apart from that, I would be happy to have a new dining experience at one of the many Italian restaurants in Sydney!

I truly enjoyed Lucio's. The ambience was great! It felt as if you have walked into an art gallery. The walls of restaurant is decorated with paintings. Love the art work on the menu too! I had the Black handkerchief pasta with cuttlefish, mussels, prawns and chili, there was only one word I could describe this dish, amazing! The pasta was sublime, very smooth and cooked to perfection!

For my main, I ordered the grilled marrons with fregola, fresh herbs and crustacean oil, a very simple dish but full of flavour, extremely fresh marrons. Loved it all! Lucio's reflects what Italian cuisine should be. This is simply one of the best Italian restaurants in Sydney and is one of my personal favourite! I'd love to try their degustation menu in my next visit.
