Still thinking about the breakfast I had here last Sunday. I'm craving it. I ordered a toasted ham, cheese & mushroom on Turkish bread for only $5. It was not a big serve but really hit the spot for me. We did wait quite a while for our meals I thought considering we were the only ones in the cafe but realised why when we were served freshly roasted tomatoes. Worth the wait I think. My friends loved the coffee. The pizza's looked intriguing so I would like to return to try them out.
I went to Lucetta for lunch today. I don't of course, know the standards of the other reviewers, but I must say I was misled by all the positive reviews. This is a mediocre caff!
The onion soup was billed as 'caramelized onion' soup. Well, I think that the caramelizing must have been available to the next customer because my onions, whilst soft, were certainly not caramelized and the soup was so salty! I then had the chili crab linguini. This dish lacked any sort of piquancy so where the chili was I have no idea. Altogether an exceptionally forgettable experience.
Good quality produce, generous portions and speedy service. Great for work lunch. Still a bit of fine tuning on the palate required for a few dishes. Too much acidity on the Italian salad, overpowered by more than one type of pickled vegetable and addition of excess balsamic.
Prefer the pizzas to the main meal menu. Most of the pizzas are very nice, although would not recommend the one with speck (hugh bacon chunks). A bit too much fat! Clean, minimal fit out, although very noisy due to all hard surfaces. Above average wine, value for money. I’m still torn between Lucetta and the nearby Foyer Cafe. For pizza, you can’t beat Lucetta.
Fantastic restaurant. We came here for a work lunch and the food was divine. Pizzas are probably one of the best I've ever had. I also saw some of the other servings and they were huge. Service is also great and at such a great price and great value for money we'll definitely be back again.
I don't know where the previous reviewer was but Lucetta was a fantastic dining experience for my family and I the other evening. I had the crab linguini which was divine while my husband loved his steak which was cooked to perfection.
The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive, and made our night!! Considering the location this restaurant really does offer great value for money with great food and lots of it. We will definitely be back soon.
The menu looks quite reasonable here but the food is very poor. They obviously use low quality produce. The service is not very friendly either. This place also has the ambience of a hospital waiting room.
Definitely Sydney's best kept secret, with a widely varied menu. We have had many meals there and each one unique and delicious. Especially the pizzas which have a paper thin crispy crust unlike nothing you've ever eaten.
There's potential here, would like to see the boys take it to the next level. Great friendly service is a plus. Value for money considering location is good. Main pasta meals are reasonable but not spectacular, however, well priced. Have had pizza there a few times and a couple of fine adjustments would take them from average to very good.
A bit more care with the tomato sauce and the way it is seasoned would offer huge improvement. Use it less liberally better to compliment the pizza rather than being a 'topping'. Better distribution of the toppings, their quality (salami's and cheeses are average) would improve the overall pizza to no end.
Tucked away opposite the fire station on Kent St, it would be easy to miss Lucetta. However, if you are after a great pizza, it is well worth tracking down.
I went there recently and had a sensational pork belly pizza. Great base, which had the perfect amount of crunchiness, and the topping levels were spot on. Washed down with a frosty Peroni, after a hard week at work, it was the perfect formula to unwind on a Friday night.
With the bill just breaking the $25 mark, Lucetta also represented good value for money.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Lucetta recently. My spinach risotto was wonderful and my husband devoured his seafood dishes. The restaurant is very nice and our seat by the window allowed us to watch the world go by. I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu.
