I'm from out of town and haven't been to the Bob in years. There is great atmosphere on a saturday night with a great DJ. The new food menu they have is fantastic with great vegetarian options. I would definitely go back again soon.

Went back to the Bob after hearing they had a new chef and a new menu.....Wow! fresh tasty great steaks and ribs. They obviously have invested in a new grill and a new butcher. Previous visits over the years we used to avoid the steak as it was either a lil dry or bland.

The Porterhouse was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth, my partner had the rump and rib Saturday combo and after stealing a rib I have to say that was the best damn rib sauce I have tasted outside of the US. We will certainly be going back more regularly now to try some of the other new dishes.

A great, diverse menu of high quality contemporary Australia pub food, including seafood platters, salt and pepper calamari, great burgers (lamb, steak and beef) as well as lighter dishes such as prawn salads and mezze plates. The garden area serves as a quaint yet vibrant atmospheric backdrop for catching up with friends or work colleagues. The staff is convivial and attentive. Highly recommend.

I regularly go to the Lord Roberts either socially with work or catching up with friends casually. The food is great and always fast, the service is fantastic even when it is busy. The upstairs part is one of the hidden secrets of the area with a leafy out look and you don't feel like you are in the heart of the city at all. The standard menu is great with specials always enticing for every type of tastebuds.

Upstairs is a great escape from the traffic filled streets below - a good place to unwind. The food is good and the staff always very attentive. Friday evenings always have a great atmosphere.

My colleagues and I eat and catch up for a drink at the Lord Roberts on a weekly basis. We have been going to the Lord Roberts since the FFA moved from Sydney Olympic Park to the Sydney CBD in 2003. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the menu caters for all tastes and there is never a complaint about the quality of the food. In fact, there were 12 of us there yesterday and 5 today and not one piece of food was left on any of our plates. Great atmospheres, yummy food and value for money.

I went to the Lord Roberts with a large group. We had booked and pre-ordered, but it took some time for them to accommodate everyone. Food didn't arrive instantly, but they didn't keep us waiting all that long. I had the lamb burger, which I have 2 complaints about.

Structural the rocket was on the bottom, causing the meat to be unstable, so you can't really eat it with a knife and fork, but it's rather large to eat with your fingers. The lamb was a little undercooked and didn't taste very lamby (perhaps, they accidently gave me beef?). Most people were fairly happy with their food, esp. the people who had the special, which was fish and chips.

The atmosphere's pretty good, it can be a bit noisy, but it wins points for the rare combination of being both clean and unpretentious. Ambience-wise I should also mention there's plenty of sunlight (in the daytime), and a great open area to enjoy a smoke if you're so inclined. Drinks cost a little more than I was expecting. When we tried to pay, the waiter told us that they needed more money, because the prices have changed since the website was updated.

This pub charges a dollar more for a beer than the neighbouring pubs. The 'atmosphere' is non-existent, largely because the decor is worn-out and bland but more because I find the bar staff to be rude, ignorant and totally lacking in any charm or hospitality. Sorry, I'm not the type to complain, but I can only tell you what my findings are. I even mentioned to one staff member that he was the only decent bartender - the rest seemed to be rude jerks.

Have not been to Stanley Street for a while so I thought I'd go for a stroll and have lunch with my sister, who is over from the UK for a holiday! I had heard that The LRH had a beer garden so we thought we'd investigate! To our surprise they had this cool outdoor area, chill out style! Had a huge lamb burger with hommus, loving it! My sis had the prawn linguine, both fab with a couple of beers! Great day! Great surprise!

A great little place that was really surprising! Downstairs is the regular dark dingy pub, but upstairs, the courtyard was fantastic, as was the open lounge area! Came here on a Thursday night for a few drinks before dinner, had such a great time that we stayed all night and ended up eating at the pub. Found the food pleasant - regular pub fare but a bit more upmarket. Pricing was decent, but it was just such a great place. Definitely do not be put off by downstairs - head straight upstairs!!!
