Went there tonight with my girlfriend and another couple. First, the prices are very inflated, I can go to any restaurant in Newtown or a similar suburb and get a very good meal for no more than $25 dollars. At Lone Star they were charging $30+ for crappy salad, fries, and a tiny steak.
My girlfriend ordered nachos (she couldn't justify paying 30+ dollars for a steak), and when they arrived they were cold and had very little in the way of toppings. After returning the nachos and getting them removed from the bill, the total came to about $150 dollars and that's only for 3 people since my girlfriend didn't order anything else. Terrible value for money in my opinion and I would not recommend this place.
The meal I had was nice, my partners meal looked good and tasted good, however, it was expensive $80> for two people and that was without desserts. They sat us in the main aisle way and there was a air-con vent right above us that kept blowing a mild draft which made it uncomfortable.
Also the young lady that gave us our bill didn't really have a clue what she was doing, paid by credit and she couldn't find a pen so I could sign, I had to use my own pen, this is poor customer service. More thought should go into hiring people that know customer service than just hiring any one off the street. I'd like to go there again but I think in a larger group would be better because they take care of you more.
Went here for dinner with my boyfriend. From the moment we arrived it was very disappointing, we both hadn't had Lone Star for yrs so we decided to give it a try.
Our waiter was rude, it just seemed like he didn't want to be there and as soon as we had sat down, he asked straight away if we were ready to order as well we had dirty tissues on the table. Once we had decided on what to order, we couldn't draw a waiter's attention, they would just walk past us and ignore us.
Finally ordered, once we got our meals they were small servings not like how we remembered them to be and the food was cold. To top it off they had forgotten to serve our soup which should have come out before our meals, we told the waiter so they quickly got it for us and when receiving it, it was cold. Then we had 2 waiters on separate occasions come up to us to ask if we need another drink when we had two glasses on the table still full.
Very unhappy with our meals, we decided to leave asap when we paid. We had to wait at least 5-10mins just to get our change. Would not recommend this place to anyone!!!!!
Went there for girlfriends birthday and what a treat. Service was brilliant, always being tended to and the food was beautiful, my steak was cooked perfect and my girls salmon the same. Would go back there anytime don't know about other lone stars but this ones a treat.
This is definitely not the place for a quiet night out! I went with my young family and we were welcomed with open arms. The service was friendly, cheerful and attentive the entire time, definitely improved the experience. I found the servings to be quite large, with the slabs of meat more than sufficient. I ordered the chilli for an entree. It was good, though not the most flavoursome. For main I had pepper steak medallions topped with prawns. My medium rare steaks were definitely on the rare side and while I think there were only 3 prawns, they were delicious.
Overall, don't go here expecting fine dining, it's a good place for a couple of beers and a piece of meat. You will leave full and satisfied. Oh, and well done to all the girls in the line dance.
Just across the road from PJ Gallaghers Pub, always a good steak served here. Been a few times now and never been disappointed. Your typical steakhouse ambience, certainly wouldn't propose here! Staff do their best to keep you entertained. Most importantly, the steak was cooked to perfection. No doubt, I'll be back.
I don't mind a steak here, I like the fillet with bacon wrapped around the outside, yum, they cook a great medium steak! Sweet potato with cinnamon, sugar and butter, kinda nice! Can't fit anything else in, after eating my steak and half the sweet potato, its huge. Where is a better steak in Parra, curious as I have no idea, advice welcome.
My wife and I went on a saturday night. Not a lot good or bad to say about the place, the service was quite good, I'll give them that. They over cooked my steak which was a little disappointing for a steak house. The whole idea of going to a steak house is to get a good steak, I wouldn't care if they stuffed up the drink order or whatever, but you gotta get the steak right.
We also made a booking and arrived on time, then were told that we would have to wait 15 minutes for a table. Basically it was an average experience, I suppose you get that when a bunch of 16 year olds run the place. I wouldn't rush back their but I'd go again.
