Food - Love it. From the chickens, to chips, to burgers, to anything else really. Always very good, without being absolutely fantastic.

Ambience - Look, it's a local Portuguese shop, so you can't knock it too much. Few tables inside, few tables outside, counter along the side. Standard.

Service - Always nice and prompt, but as I understand it, they've had a change of management recently. Will be interesting to see when I head back next.

Value - It almost feels like they're paying me to eat there.

Recommendation - 7.8/10 - Great local joint for me which I'd go to maybe once every few months for a Thursday or Friday arvo feed. Food is always very good, and you'll leave there a satisfied little chickie.

A delicious little chicken shop, unlike the one in Petersham where the owner and staff walk around with a chip on their shoulders. If you want fantastic Portuguese chicken minus the attitude - this is your place.

Genuine and authentic portuguese food. Casual dining, eatery style with an emphasis on good portions of delicious food. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

We were looking to eat some authentic Portuguese cuisine. We read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. We had carne de porco alentejana and my husband opted for a beef dish. I can't remember the name. Chunks of beef hung from a skewer on to a hamburger. We enjoyed both the dishes esp the alentejana was beautiful. The meat was tender and full of flavour. The portions were massive. The owner was very friendly and chatted to us. We are definitely going back there for some more (we have yet to try their deserts which I heard is awesome).

This is a great place for a casual meal and is child friendly. The food were nice servings of great tasting Portuguese fare, can't go wrong with the chicken, and the tarts go like, hot cakes. We never had problems with the service. Repeat visits.

As long as you go to this place for the right reasons you won't be disappointed. Is it the place for a first date or a celebration dinner? Absolutely not. The place is what I term an eatery. That sits in between a takeaway and a restaurant. If you are prepared for that than happy days, otherwise, prepare to be disappointed as it is what it is. There is an open charcoal BBQ inside, whatever you do eat something from the menu that is cooked from that, Estofada deliciously chunky cubes of beef cooked over flaming hot coals what more could make a carnivore sing?

Let's talk about Portuguese tarts. Why do you tease me so when I see 6 on a cake stand then order dessert for 4 and you say there is only one left? Wait staff were convivial, even the young lady who could not speak much English, she was such a sweetheart and so accommodating, although, perhaps, not understanding us worked in her favour?

As an aside the Saturday night entertainment i.e. the extremely drunk individual who fell numerous times and almost forward rolled to his death before trying to hail the stationary truck he was leaning up against for a taxi, priceless.

We came to get some meat dishes after abstaining from meat during the Easter period so said why not try Portuguese. I had a Pork steak whilst the wife had a Beef dish. My Pork dish (forgot the name from the menu) come served with rice and chips with a cooked egg on top of the meat. Pork was nicely seasoned without needing extra condiments.

The Beef dish was served, also with rice and the egg on top but had potato "rounds" instead of fries which were also very nice and crispy. We washed it all down with some sangria which was perfect as well. I liked the complimentary bread and olives that arrived before the mains.

They were fairly busy out the front and rear of the establishment where we were but the staff were very nice and helpful.

I saw a rating for eatability on the front of the store so I thought I'll do my own review. Little Portugal is a terrific place to go for a feed anytime as the menu is impressive for both dine in or take away. Great family vibe and the dishes are authentic as it gets. My family even get catering from time to time and the quality of the food is always of the highest standard. Child friendly and outside patio seating.. mmmmm.

We found this little place to be authentically Portuguese. Its true to the cuisine but don't go if you're a vegetarian because all that is on offer is salad! It's more like a take-away place so its very casual dining in and out but the staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. I took the kids and I found them welcoming and pleasant. Great for a genuine taste of Portuguese home-style food.

Review 11 October 2009 - Dropped in late Friday night at 9 pm and though packing up at the front, we were escorted to the back restaurant part where there were two tables dining.

Tried the portuguese special recommendation from our waitress, which can be best described as three foot skewer of beef chunks, chargrilled and served suspended on a hanging frame. The juice from the beef chunks drips onto a hamburger bun. Served with large size of fries. Also tried the greek salad and churisco appetiser. Huge servings especially when combined with complimentary bread rolls and olives. All up $45 to the hip pocket. Service still friendly at this time of night.

Review 13 June 2009 - Happen to stumble across this place between appointments, pleasantly surprised. You can smell the charcoal chicken from down the street. Service is lovely from all the waitstaff and after ordering a chicken and chips combo, were served, complimentary olives and complimentary bread. You are also given the option of chilli sauce on your chicken or plain. The chilli option does have some kick to it!

Servings were huge. Chicken tender. Most tables for a late weekend lunch were also hoe-ing into chicken and chips so didn't get a chance to see the rest of the menu. Great little find in Dulwich Hill.
