Have been coming here since they opened and thought it was time to add a review. In one word, awesome. Limited but seasonal and tasty menu, and coffee that's better than any I can think of on Darling st (Marrionette's isn't quite on Darling). The service is great and if you go back twice they'll most likely remember your coffee. Am happy it's my regular.

Coffee is nice but for sure not the best in Balmain Rozelle area. The people can be nice and can be not nice, depends on the mood... I don't think this place has the right set up to serve cafe food, as it is not well equiped and way too small, maybe sandwiches and cakes will give them a better identity. I would come back if I was in the area for a take away coffee but nothing else really.

Just went to this place this morning and really disappointed. After forgetting my order - fair enough this happens sometimes - they then rushed a luke warm not properly prepared coffee to me. This was following a sub sized serving of scrambled eggs which looked more like the leftovers of someone elses meal. First coffee was actually ok. I directly complained about my experience but the staff didn't seem to care that much or constructively offer to do anything about it. Won't be going back here.

Best coffee in balmain and the food is excellent. Glad they opened the bistro because that was amazing as well. Really enjoying all the boys are doing.

This is a favourite little cafe away from darling St but worth finding, however, only has 4 tables so can get crowded. Excellent coffee but the food is superb with best ingredients such as Adriano Zumbo croissants. Specials on weekends have always been pleasant surprises. Attentive very friendly service. Ask where the name "Ethel" comes from and check the pics on the wall.
