I am a daily visitor to the Lindt cafe - their hot chocolates and coffees are fabulous and their lemon hazelnut delices are superb. However, a word of warning for those seeking take-out coffees/hot chocolates - if you see the guy making it, I advise you to just walk out. He's rude and arrogant and does not work well under pressure, which means you will usually end up with only half a cup of coffee (after removing the froth) after waiting sometimes up to 20 minutes (like I did the other day) or even find that your order has been taken from the queue!
However, please join the queue if there's a fabulously friendly Asian guy as he makes amazing coffees and he smiles and greets people - this is what Lindt needs dealing with their customers.
I had been dying to go here for ages being a bit of a chocoholic and it didn't disappoint. I had a chocolate milkshake and a chocolate pastry. The milkshake was the best I've ever had with little flecks of chocolate all through it. It wasn't a particularly busy day but nevertheless the service was prompt and friendly. It isn't cheap but then again you don't expect it to be and for what you get it and the quality it isn't overly expensive.
We went for my birthday and I had the degustation plate which was divine, the white chocolate ice cream is to die for. My husband had a mocha coffee and the cerise cake which is like black forest cake, these were also very good. Prices are on the higher end of the scale but remember you are paying for the cockle bay location and high quality chocolate so I didn't have a problem with it. I found staff to be extremely helpful and polite and would certainly recommend a visit.
I will most definitely return.
This place is pretty close to where I work, and I probably visit it once a month or so, when I just want to get out of the office for a coffee or meet up with someone who I know would love this place.
The Lindt cafe is good. It's not great, but it's good. Each time I go, I usually order a coffee or a dark hot chocolate (depending on how many times I have been to the gym that week). I have ordered sandwiches from here before and found them to be average, but the cakes I have ordered have been great.
It's a great place to bring a chocolate lover, and a great place to just sit outside and watch the world go by.
There is a shortage of good high-end chocolate places in Sydney, and this is probably about the best of the lot.
If you are going here- make sure you try the cookies and cream lindt balls- they are yummy.
the only downside to this place is probably the service- it gets really busy and it can take a while to place and receive your order. All well and fine if you have lots of time to waste, but it can be a bit annoying if you're on your lunch break and you're strapped for time.
I had read the reviews for Lindt Cafe at Martin Place before visiting so I was keen to decide for myself what it had to offer. The service was more than adequate given the number of customers that were there on a rain Saturday afternoon. A waitress was aware of this and was quite apologetic and wanted to make sure that we were being attended to.
The dark hot chocolate was exquisite. We ordered the chocolate Lindt cake and a white chocolate cake for $6 each (the price I though was steep for a portion that was no larger than a normal sized cupcake). Overall it is a pleasant place to have a chat and a hot drink on a rainy afternoon.
If you can overlook the arrogant staff then this cafe is a must for chocoholics!
The hot chocolate is adorable and the cakes are just as naughty. Pricey - yes but then again it is Lindt Chocolate!!!
Treat yourself and indulge in this chocolate heaven - just don't make eye contact with the staff !!!
Best chocolaty things ever!! The service may be a little matter of fact but they are very busy. The food is served very quickly. I also like the delicious products you can buy there, many you can get nowhere else.
It may be expensive but it's worth its value.. $11 sundae, but it's oh so good.. hot fudge sundae with lindt white chocolate ice cream... it's amazing... with a little chocolate with a golden lindt stamp on the top.. and fudge and other stuff in it... it's just unbelieveable how good it is!
It was the best iced chocolate I have ever had... as well as the block of chocolate we bought to go along with the drinks. It was quite dear but nothing extortionate - the standard rate you would expect to pay harbourside - and it was worth it.
