My friends and I ate at Lindas on Saturday night and Loved it. The setting is very nice and romantic although it is quite a small restaurant I loved the feel of it. My friends and I decided not to have an entree but the waitress bought us all some soup which was amazing! I think it was a curry seet potato soup, whatever it was we all liked it.

Then our mains came, 2 of my friends had the duck which I tasted and it was cooked to perfection with a beautiful sauce. I had the ravioli which was also amazing. For the dessert we go the tasting plate which had 5 different desserts for only $20 and that did the 4 of us, once again everyone was beautiful. You can tell when something has been made with heart and all the dishes were made to look attractive on the plates.

I will be taking my husband back as soon as I can to taste the rest of the menu. Thankyou for a great night.

My review relates to tonights experience. We have had many a great night at Linda's but won't be going back after tonight. Although I made a booking on DIMMI and had the booking confirmed we turned up only to find that they had no record of my booking.

I showed the Host my emailed "confirmed booking" only to be told "I told those guys to leave me alone and I wasn't using them anymore for bookings". We were so disappointed and the whole thing was so unprofessional!

As the host was checking his list another couple came in after us, luckily for them, been a cancellation so he seated them without a problem.

I said to the guy "but you just seated those guys without a reservation who actually came in after us and I had a reservation". He basically blamed the entire thing on DIMMI which according to him he hadn't used for ages.

We have actually been to Linda's many times and always used DIMMI for our bookings. I was more disappointed that his attitude was that he couldn't have care a less, no apology and no sympathy for two regulars who turn up with an email confirmed reservation.

We've basically just had a ruined evening thanks to the management at Lindas.

Ate at Linda's last night after being told by three other restaurants that they were fully booked (Saturday night I guess). Linda's had a table for two and I can't believe I have left it so long to come here. The service was an absolute delight and the food was fantastic.

We were served a small vegetable soup to start and that was so tasty, I could have had a whole bowl for my dinner and left at that.

Partner had the scallops and pork belly entree which was cooked to perfection and I had the twice baked souffle which was one of the best I have ever had, beautifully light and fluffy.

Mains were the duck confit (excellent) and barramundi with lobster bisque and gnocchi (yum!), then dessert was the ginger cake and chocoloate mousse, both were outstanding.

We had a really great night and will definitely be back to Linda's soon to try everything on the menu.

What a lovely little place, you would never know you were on busy king street. The staff are really friendly and it has a very welcoming vibe about it. They fit us in at very late notice and we were lucky to get a table. The menu is very well balanced with a range of flavours for different tastes and dependent on seasons. I always like dessert so opted to go straight for mains. A lovely touch it was then to get warm sourdough bread and a mini tasting cup of delicious winter vegetable soup while we waited. My boyfriend's lamb shank appeared small but underneath revealed more tender lamb meat. My salmon was delicious and the piece was very generous. The desserts were amazing... I couldn't go past the brulee with pear sorbet and lucky I didn't because it was just beautiful and a perfect end to the meal. It is a big bonus to be such a lovely restaurant that is still BYO but low and behold I think they are changing this... oh well, I will still be back!

Linda's was recommended to me and my finance by friends. The restaurant is well fitted and pleasant and has a nice warm energy as you'd expect from an established cosy Bistro.

The service is excellent, friendly and attentive. The food was great but I have to agree with other reviews that it does lack a wow factor. Saying that the Slow roasted pork belly with apple and horseradish puree, daikon and apple salad and cider reduction was outstanding as was the Duck leg confit and roasted breast with red wine pear and braised red cabbage. Definitely worth a visit, we'll be going back.

We sent one of our A Table for Six couples to meet at dinner at Linda's recently. They reported that they enjoyed the very pleasant atmosphere and the food (or at least the fish they had) was very tasty. It was a very quite place to dine, which was lovely but it was a Tuesday night.

We have two entrees and two mains and a side of mash – $97 no alcohol. To pay $27 for a main and get food which is overcooked and bland is a disgrace! We were so disappointed last night. We got the special which was trevally with lobster bisque. The fish was overcooked and hard, the lobster bisque was watery because the spinach wasn't drained properly. The potato cake tasted like it was burnt and reheated. I am sure the fish was reheated as well. For $97 you could do so much better. Pick up your game. The food is home cooked not bistro.

Consistently great food, excellent friendly attentive service and good value for money. We have been regulars for years and have never been disappointed.

Came to celebrate and treat ourselves but were very disappointed. Ordered the Chicken for main and received half a chook with the distinct flavour of twice cooked and re-heated chicken. When I politely informed the staff of this, the nice girl who was looking after us went and asked the kitchen if the chicken had been re-heated. We were soon approached by the floor manager who patronisingly told us it was 'organic' chicken and therefore had a gamer flavour.

I responded by saying I only eat organic chicken, to which he informed me that this was high quality organic chicken and tasted different. I told him I could not eat the chicken as it was. He went on to say that all restaurants re-heat their chicken and that the flavour I was experiencing was normal.
The fact that I have eaten organic chicken in countless restaurants and at home and it has never had that re-heated flavour is besides the point.

They didn't charge us for the chicken, but their attitude and denial that anything was wrong will definitely not have us coming back again.
It's a pity as Newtown needs more intimate fine dining places.
