Always been a favourite of mine to go with a group of girlfriends, been going there for 9 years but it seems to have changed hands, different menu, food was mediocre, service was very slow, waiting 45 minutes for starters is ridiculous, the waiter was friendly but said he'd only been there 2 days! I'm afraid we were all disappointed at the extortionate bill too, $350 for five people is outrageous, we won't be going again.

Disappointed! Have been going there for 10 yrs now, the last 2 times have been awful. 5 tables of people, took 45 minutes to receive Entree, another 45 minutes to receive main, steak asked Medium came out twice, Rare, Ravioli $30 for entree size. Will not be going back again.

Was here last week end. Food has completely changed. A complete new menu with exciting new dishes. Once asked up on waiter she said that there is a celebrity chef in the kitchen. Loved the food, and worth every single penny you spend on it. Will definitely go back.

Great place to celebrate mothers day. Friendly people, service was fast and food was fantastic. Food is little pricey but worth. My family enjoyed the day. We will surely come back.

We recently ate at L'Incontro and were very disappointed. This has been one of our favourite North Shore restaurants for many years but it has changed hands. With the quality of the food we were served tonight, it won't last long. The lamb and beef dishes came with big, dense, chewy chunks of meet and barely a skerrick of vegetables. The barramundi was tasteless and small. We were so disappointed as we had brought friends from interstate for a special reunion dinner. The service was extremely slow. The only plus was the relative lack of noise - largely because so few people were dining there. It was expensive and very, very ordinary. The current management is obviously trading on the reputation of the former owners. We don't expect they will still be there in six months time, as there are so many places with much, much better food and service.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous 6 Course dinner at L'incontro on Valentines day. It was excellent in every way. The food superb in presentation and taste. The staff were very professional and pleasant. Though the service was bit slow but that was the whole idea of slow romantic dinner. Highly recommended and will be back.

The restaurant feels lovely... the old dining room has a quaint and warm feeling withhold world charming... but the food and service wasn't what I'd hoped for. The food was tasty enough, but servings are very small for the prices. But the real issue for us was the slow service... our entrees came out fine but then we waited an hour for our mains to appear. As apology they gave us some complimentary desserts, but by that stage we just wants to go home!

This restaurant is in such a beautiful old building it is such a shame that it has left me disappointed. The food was definitely at a low standard for the prices to be paid, and the service was quite slow and unattentive. I don't think I will be back.

Had a great night out with my friends last night, the food was outstanding and service was very nice indeed. I had the scallops for starters which was very tasty and then the Barramundi for main which was as good as any I have tasted before. I will definitely be back again to enjoy the old world mansion with its small and intimate dining rooms and the amazing food.

Twice over the past 2 years I have been to this gorgeous restaurant. On both occassions everything was perfect & I was looking forward to going again. All staff were new, non Italian who spoke poor English. The fillet steak at $44 was tough & hard to digest. The Miso de Mere also $44,a selection of seafood looked great but tasted overcooked & rubbery. I think this restaurant may have been taken over by new owners as the very hospitable Italian owner who was there previously, was nowhere in sight. The prices are very high an the quality of the food has become very low.
