The service, particularly at the reception, was bad. Buffet was Ok, as long as you stick to the marinated meat (disappointed with the salad bar...not many kimchi options). Cooked garlic fried chicken was unexpectedly nice.

Don't go there if you're after service, but if you're up for a big tasty meaty feast, then this place is gold! Chicken wings, potato noodles and Korean beef rib are fantastic.

It's a pretty pricy Korean BBQ buffet, about $30 per person. The meat here is marinated pretty well, a lot better than a lot of Korean BBQs I've been too. I like how they came over to change our hot plate many times. It's good for events e.g. birthdays, reunions as they have big long tables.
But I don't like how there's little walking way between the tables. You always have to ask people to tuck in their chairs. And it can get pretty smoky inside.

It's my favourite Korean restaurant as there're some foods I especially love there and I cannot find them elsewhere. I especially love the radish salad. There's not much service there. But I mainly go for the food. Price is a bit high but considering it's a buffet BBQ restaurant that's quite understandable.

I've been going to this restaurant off and on since about 2003. They seem to have changed owners a few times and each time things have gotten progressively worse. Now we basically don't even consider it as a last resort. There is no real service to speak of, the staff are rude and you have to wave like crazy to get someone to come over.
They control the temperature of the grill, and only give groups a single pair of tongs and scissors. They also try to clean up while you're still eating and ask over and over if you're finished. It's really disappointing, given that not so long ago it was lot better. If you're in the mood for Korean bbq buffet, there are other options worth looking at.

Went here with a large group of friends and was very disappointed. Greeted by an extremely rude waiter who continuously jabbed at the sign which said something about extra charges for un-eaten food (err.. what?!)
We then had to prepay ($29 p.p) and were taken to an extremely small table for 16 people, with only 3 small barbeque plates. I don't think anyone who values oxygen should go here, they really need to buy more efficient exhaust fans. We each took turns going out for some air as the smoke and fumes were too intense.
There was a huge selection of raw meats (which you cook yourself on the bbqs) and a small amount of sushi but definitely not a lot of options for vegetarians.
The whole place was very dirty, which is extremely off putting at a restaurant.
What we thought would be a fun evening turned out to be a not so great evening.
But if you're a huge carnivore who likes to pay $29 to cook your own food and punish your lungs with very little oxygen go ahead. Enjoy!

Cramped seating. Went with a group of 7, seated at two small tables next to a couple sharing one table. They kept coming to turn our grill's heat down because it was creating too much smoke. Isn't that what the exhaust fans are for? So, with the flames down low, takes forever to cook your food. $29 seemed a bit steep.

Everything but the BBQ meats (which are constantly topped up it has to be said) are gone by approx 7 pm (when we got there) so all the hot food tureens were empty the whole night. The rice ran out at about 8 pm and wasn't refilled.
We brought wine and tried at least three times to get wine glasses, but eventually used the water tumblers and then they had the nerve to tell us off at the end of the night for not paying corkage (which would have been paid when we got the wine glasses that we couldn't get).

You come to Lim's to cook and eat as much food as you possibly can. You don't come for the spring rolls that might not be as hot as the could be, or the salad bar.
Great fun for groups or a bunch of friends who like meat, bring some wine for a rather pleasant evening. The value has remained consistant as I have been going there since somewhere around 2004. Don't worry about your potatoe salad that ran out or that you have to pre-pay, that's not why your there. It is the meaty meat meat!
