We've been here a few times, and the food had always delivered. I love the scallop tart! The let down of this place is the service staff. Occasionally we are treated to prompt service, but lately, the staff seem preoccupied. The senior staff walks around with a scowl and any request seems to ruin his day. We know he is the senior staff as we've asked other staff who the grumpy one is. Not good for front of house! If it wasn't for the food we'd give this place a miss.
We are locals with family also in the area and have eaten here for those "occasions" when we value the setting. Early August we returned for lunch. Not wanting a big meal we chose the fish fillets and chips plus a bottle of wine. We know restaurants have a bad day and this must have been one of them.
We were served 1 slice each of a french loaf plus a serving of margarine, NOT BUTTER. The wine arrived, waiter opened it and "sniffed" the contents, not good. Did I say we were charged $52 for an ordinary wine?
The meal arrived minus the salad we ordered, fish was ok but the chips were basically burnt and in retrospect we should have returned them. At this point it was decided we would not have dessert and settled for coffee that as it happened was luke warm.
The salad never arrived I may add. Next day I emailed the Manager re our disappointment and to date she has not had the courtesy to reply. It will be a long time, if ever, before we return and needless to say we have told family and friends Beware, Enter At Your Own Risk. Pity when it has been so good. Unhappy Fairlight Diner.

Fabulous location on Shelley beach with views to die for.....however, be warned.
The food was good without being particularly special BUT the cost left a particularly bitter after-taste. For starters, we were charged $35 corkage per bottle of wine, at least $10-15 excessive. Then, to add insult to injury, we were hit with a 10% Sunday surcharge on the total bill. Unfortunately, the collective effect of this "gouging" exercise spoilt what would otherwise have been a totally enjoyable lunch!!!!
Pleasant walk along Manly beach to reach this restaurant. A great place that we took family who were visiting from overseas. The meals were excellent, the size of all but the seafood meals were substantial. Excellent service and a pleasant walk back to the ferry. Will bring visitors here again.
Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant for lunch mid week, and loved every minute of it. Sat down to champagne and oysters to start while we looked over beautiful Shelley Beach on a rare summer's sunny day. The food was so tasty, we enjoyed every minute. We'll be back.
We bought our friends from O/S here to enjoy the view and gloriously tasty food, and Le Kiosk didn't disappoint. We sat for hours eating and drinking while taking in the summer sun. I love Le Kiosk.
I took a party of 8 for Sunday Lunch to celebrate my daughter's birhday. Location & food (when we finally received it) were great. Unfortunately that's where it ended.
We were seated next to a very large party who were very loud and gave no consideration at all to other diners. Although well aware of the situation, management did nothing. Drinks & food were ordered with drinks arriving fairly quickly but it was almost 90 minutes before our food arrived. Not a pleasant experience sitting around that long unable to speak because of the noise from the next table.
To add insult to injury when I received the bill I was charged for beers when our table only drank wine. Overall a great day was spoilt by going to Le Kiosk.
Wonderful place, wonderful food. We had entrees and main and everything was perfect: zucchini flowers stuffed with goat cheese, cajun boil and blue cod stewed in coconut with mashed pumpkin. Simply delicious. It's not cheap but for a restaurant of that quality, it is definitely worth the price!
We stumbled across this delightful restaurant walking along the boardwalk from Manly to Shelly Beach. They were very busy but didn't mind seating us without a booking. We had some freshly shucked oysters with a glass of champagne, followed by the best piece of cooked fish I've had the pleasure of eating in years. My partner had the Cajun Boil consisting of prawns, fish, corn potato and green chilli, delicious, she's still licking her lips! We're so glad we found this place, we'll definitely be back and definitely recommend it to everyone we see.
Came here for Father's Day Lunch and was blown away. The food was outstanding, each course more exceptional than the last. Highly recommend Le Kiosk for special occasions or even a lovely dinner for two. Service was attentive, and the wine list was equally impressive. Loved all 4 hours of our stay.
