My husband and I ate here on Saturday night, just popped in and were lucky to get a table. We ordered some garlic mushrooms, Barcelona prawns, a chicken, prawn and mussel casserole, and the meatballs. My husband loved the meatballs and prawns, I loved the mushrooms and prawns, and we were both indifferent about the chicken casserole.
All up I was really happy with the quality of food, and the service was fine. My husband ordered sangria as well and thought it was a good standard. I'd recommend it, and I would go back. Very loud on a Saturday night though, but where isn't?!
Where do I start, tapas that came less than 3 minutes after ordering, clearly nothing made fresh, patatas bravas came with a marie rose sauce, when I complained the owner came out and attempted to convince me that they served them like that in Spain. I couldn't be bothered explaining I lived in Spain for 5 yrs and had never eaten them like that before. Albondigas were awful, chorizo disgusting, all in all in my opinion they are taking people who aren't experienced in eating Spanish food for a ride. Don't go.
Went here the other night for dinner. The service was great, we were well looked after. I really enjoyed the prawns it was the standout dish, however, I liked them all. I will be back for sure.
Well i loved this place! The food was incredible and very reasonbly priced. The Alioli Potatoes and the Meat Balls were a particular favourite, and of course the Sangria. We did have a bit of trouble getting a table that we had booked for in advance. This meant we had to head across the road for drinks for half an hour.. even so, when we finally received a table the staff were very attentive and charming.
My husband and I stumbled upon this place for for a Saturday lunch. We ate outside which was nice. The service was great. We ordered 4 Tapas dishes and a salad and of course some Sangria, the pork loins were a little dry and the serving was small, the chizo was a small serving also but very tasty, we also went the spicy creamy sauce on the potatoes which were absolutly divine and the garlic mushroom which were also beautiful.
The Sangria was fantastic, my husband who is not a wine drinker managed to share the caraf with me (much to me not being very amused, I should ordered another) and was topped off nicely with the chocolate churros. Although the servings were certainly a bit small, in overall the food was very nice and we will be returning to this restaurant.
Not a huge selection of tapas - but very tasty indeed! Choosing tapas for 2 (6 tapas) gives you variety plus that it's great value at $48. Servings are pretty big to be tapas. Very satisfied with the food here, service was less good but far from a catastrophe. Garlic prawns are fenomenal. Definitely recommended.
Attended on a sunday lunch. Enjoyed the experience of eating there. Food was good and service was there when you needed it. Overall came out quite satisfied from eating there after having a few mixed tapas and a paella dish. Sangria was average though.
Ok, so we did this one as a buffet. There were 15 of us and enjoyed the tapas, sangria & paela. You know you're in a family business when they make you feel welcome as though you walked throught the front door of their home. However, it is a little bare and the reverb in the place is a bit hard to handle and gives a sense of coolness... not a good thing in winter.
Great value for money if you don't have high expectations, walk in blindly & let the flavours of spain take you there... well nearly there anyway. I'll be back in summer to give it another go, without the group.
This review is a bit odd, because we didn't actually eat at this place. We made a booking, which they accepted, but when we arrived (a bit late admittedly), they had reserved us a makeshift table in the corner which was so awful, we stood up and left!
We were crammed into the entrance to the hallway that led to the toilet, and I was sitting on a chair so low the table top came up almost to my shoulders. The place was packed, but I really don't think they should have taken our booking if there was no room.
I took a group of 5 to La Sangria last Saturday night, as I had previously eaten there and really enjoyed it. It was extremely disappointing to say the least.
Upon arrival we were seated on a cramped table, i.e. it was a table for 4 that was modified to seat 3 on one side and 2 on the other. We managed to rectify that and place one seat on the end. What followed was really bad service and alot of attitude. We ordered our selection of tapas and decided to start off with half a dozen, as the last time I was there, we were advised to order 2 each and it was way too much. The staff took the order and said "is that it, you only order 6 tapas?"
She grabbed all the menus and stormed off in a huff. Trying to order a jug of water was a joke and then when we did want to order a few more tapas, we were told we had to wait for the staff to take our order. That really annoys me in a crowded restaurant when they have only one person, capable of taking orders.
Then to complete the whole experience, the bill arrived on our table without us asking for it. The staff tried to pick it up twice, so the second time I told her that we had not even asked for the bill so would not be paying it until we were ready to leave. Again, she stormed off in a huff before I had finished my sentence.
Needless to say, we left no tip and will not be returning. The tapas were ordinary and with service like that, there is no need when there are so many other great tapas places out there.
