What a disaster. I had the pasta dish with seafood and I can say it was rubbery. The service was ok but I do agree with the last review..you get what you pay..not good at all.
The saying "you get what you pay for" is the best way to describe this place. The prices are cheap but the food is ordinary. My friends canoloni was terrible (we all had a try and it was tasteless) and then the pasta was even worse. My friend had frozen ham pieces in her pasta. The pizza, though cheap, tastes like something the supermarkets home brand pizza's taste like. Not coming back unless my friends are on a strict budget (money wise).
I think people are being a bit too harsh on this venue. While it's not A+ First Class, it still delivers pretty good solid food and it's really good value for money. Service can be slow, but it just depends on how full it is inside.
The worst place I have ever eaten out at.... the local takeaway poops all over this joint. They gave us a pile of plates to distribute at our table. The problem was, 9 out of 10 plates had solid chunks of baked on food on them...and I'm not talking just lettuce leaves, I mean massive chunks of pizza and meat. One plate in particular was HALF covered in old food. Maybe it was the dishwasher, but for heaven's sake RINSE!
The main meals were supposed to be served with chips and salad. Except, they ran out of chips that night. Their only compensation?.....sorry, you'll just have to have salad with that tonight. We ordered a Greek/Meditteranean salad which usually comes with feta. When ours didn't come with feta, I asked why. The waiter replied with 'the feta wasn't up to chef's standard, so he didn't send it out'. Does this mean it was as bad as the plate situation! They forgot about our drinks....took 20 minutes to get one beer and one glass of wine. And forget about the pizzas....the toppings were still raw when the pizza came out. Never, ever again.
I think the food is pretty ordinary and the service was very slow. It took about 1hr to get our meals - I didn't think it would take that long for a pizza. Wouldn't go there again.
I have dined out here a few times as I have a few friends who live out west and have stuck to the same order time and time again, and have been happy every single time. A margerita pizza. They do an excellent one, the sauce which is so important is excellent.
As for my friends, well they have had some disappointing experiences with the Risotto here, but otherwise everything else has been great, ie. service, atmosphere, etc.
We had a 7 pm reservation and the silly idea that we could order and eat pizza and be elsewhere by 9.30 pm. Ha! The pizza was ok but the service was so painfully slow that by 9 pm we had to forego dessert and leave. The ex-church setting is apparently a favourite for the Goths.
We went for lunch on a weekend after a while and the food matched our expectations from our previous visits. The veg pizzas are flavoursome and well sized, particularly the gourmet options. The greek salad was generous and had the right ingredients - no celery or wierd bits. The entree gnocchi had to be shared between two of us, but was firm and not too creamy.
The place was empty though which felt a bit odd in such a large church. Service was ok. Value was excellent as usual.
