I eat out quite a lot and am constantly surprised how few times restaurants get it all right. This is one of the great exceptions. The food is brilliant, Ercole and staff are excellent and all at a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended!!

Staff were totally unhelpful and rude. Meals were small and average. Nothing redeeming about the restaurant. Don't bother.

I love Ercoles! Having lived in the area for a very long time, my family and I have been regulars at Ercoles for over 20 years, in fact my mum followed him from the North Sydney restaurant (before my time). Always a great time, food is brilliant, well priced and the service is impeccable. They do a great job. Without doubt, the best Italian on the north shore. Well done guys!

This is the first time we visited this restaurant as friends had strongly recommended this place. And the food was absolutely fresh and full of flavour. I had the spaghetti with prawns and it was perfect. My partner had a pizza which was equally nice. Though its very noisy and a small place I would definitely go back for the food.

My fiance and I went here on Friday night, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is a very busy little restaurant, absolutely packed to the gills when we arrived, but we were quickly seated. Our waitress was friendly and the service was attentive, even though they were at maximum capacity. However, I did notice that our waitress seemed to want us to avoid dessert.... but she wasn't rude when we said we did want dessert after all.
I think the place is just so busy that the wait staff want to make their lives that little bit easier, which is understandable. The food was terrific. I had the cuttle fish entree, which was original and very tasty, and the lemon veal for main. The veal was absolutely delicious. I've had this dish before at other Italian Restaurants, but the chef did something to this dish to make it dance on my tongue!
This restaurant adds that little bit of extra care to their cooking, which makes all the difference. My fiance enjoyed his bruschetta, pumpkin soup and fish dishes, but not being a fan of noisy restaurants, his experience wasn't as good as mine. I, however, loved the friendly, warm, slightly chaotic atmosphere. This would not have worked if the waiters hadn't been as genial as they were.
The bill was pretty considerable, but I think the food was worth it. I will definitely go back for more.

I loved the food and the service was great. I have been there a few times and is always packed. Definitely good value for money and will go back there for sure.

Nearly didn't go because of the price rating but it is good value for money and is well priced. We both had the pasta and it is probably the best pasta in Sydney. Dessert was fantastic.
Service was a little slow, but overall a great place and one which we will definitely go back to. The owner is unique and has a passion for his restaurant.

Went on a Friday night. Must admit it was packed. It is extremely cramped. We ordered the Veal and artichoke dish for mains. We got 4 measley pieces of veal with a bit of sauce. Usually mains that cost over $20 come in larger serves. We also ordered the Ercole special pizza which again was average. The mango gelato was excellent and so was the tiramasu. A dinner for two adults and two kids cost us over $115 and this was just for 2 large pizza's and a veal dish and three desserts. Way too expensive for what you get. We won't be back.

Really great restaurant, the food is really yummy and reasonably priced and the service is good. I recommend the Osso Bucco! A lot of comments below say how welcoming the staff is and how he shouts things in Italian to the staff, etc. I can speak Italian and trust me, not everything he says about his customers is nice!! But don't let that put you off, it's worth going for the food.

I'm a Willoughby local and this is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is great value. The ambience is lively. The service is OK but the owner Ercole makes up for that with this boisterous nature. He adores his customers and has been known to sit at your table and enjoy a glass of red. Don't let the little cramped restaurant scare you away - it adds to the character of the place!
