Stumbled across this great patisserie during a scenic walk. We ordered a pot of tea, cappuccino, a coffee eclair and chocolate croissant and went to the back courtyard to sit! A bit of a wait for drinks, by the time the drinks came out we had already finish our pastries!

The coffee eclair was delicious so I went to get another one, but by the time I got there the line was out the door. A friendly waiter helped jump the queue and got me one instead! Good place for afternoon coffee and converse! Will def be back!

I have been here a few times to try their pretty looking cakes but service can be a hit and miss depending on how busy they are. Still we are here for coffee and cakes so we place our order and sit out in the back courtyard. While the prices are slightly expensive, you are paying for quality!

Been there quite a few times, the cakes are the best I have yet tried. Just don't understand their attutide being so appalling? It might be a really busy business but there are no excuses for the rudeness and impatience, even when I go there when there are no other customers.

Apart from the service, the macaroons (salted caramel, jasmine tea, dark chocolate) and Gateau St Honorè (only available in big sizes) are my favourites!

The location and ambience of the patisserie is nice and relaxed. There is a lot on offer and they all look delectable! In the end we only took the macarons, but each flavour was delicious! Definitely one of the best in Sydney!

I ordered a cake online, received a response within 24hours, and confirmed the order within 48hours. Customer service was quick however the main store number service wasn't as great. Christophe was the only friendly person I dealt with. Have yet to try the cake however look forward to it after reading such great reviews!

From a French pattisserie one would expect a really good croissant. Well, our plane croissants on 20 Nov 2011 were awful: there were doughy with minimal substance. The chocolate croissants were the same. When I asked the waitress about it, she explained, after double checking inside, that that is how they make their croissants every day. She did offer a refund, which I declined.
    The coffe was nice, though.

My suggestion to this business: rename your establishment into 'Le Renaissance cafe', as you do not deserve to call yourself patisserie. Coles sells better croissants than you do - and I am not exaggerating.

Great little cafe at the Rocks, nice pies especially the Poulet Chausseur a hearty tomato based chicken pie with onions and a fluffy Quiche Lorraine. Their sweet pastries are also great - I love their almond croissants. They have a pretty cobblestone courtyard out the back to sit in too.

I have heard good things about this cafe but ordering a cake from them is Impossible. Their website said email the order. I emailed, no response after a couple of days. I rang, I was put on hold for 10 Minutes and the person hung up on me.

So yes, Service is Awful! Pity your cakes looked really nice on the website.
If I am going to pay $50 for your cake, please, show some courtesy to your customers. I found the service rude, brusque and appalling.

I have wanted to try the La Renaissance for some time now, and finally made it there for lunch today.

I had the croissant with ham & cheese. It was squashed, so couldn't really taste the flakiness of the pastry I usually love when I have croissants. My friend and I shared 2 cakes - I think they were both the Fleur De Lys, one in choc and the other raspberry. They were both nice, but I think we should have had 2 different cakes. Having 2 different mousse style cakes is a bit boring, but the waitress recommended them.

Nice little courtyard, but I love the Rocks so not sure why you would want to be hidden away from the area anyway. Food was nice, but I don't think I'll be rushing back there. It just didn't have the special or wow factor about it for me.

I love this place especially for their delicious macarons and outside seating area which easily makes me forget I'm in the city. I most recently visited this place in May with my best friend and we spent hours in the courtyard eating the cakes, macarons and quiches. It was also a wonderful surprise to have 2 rainbow lorikeets come to our table and nibble on unopened packets on sugar until they emptied it out. They were certainly not shy.
