We ate here based on the reasonable reviews, and had quite a good meal. We tried the mussels, open prawn ravioli, ragu, and others had the lamb shanks and veal dishes.
The mussels were excellent and served with a particularly tasty sauce, but the bread served with them was stale. The open ravioli was quite good, not as tasty as I'd been expecting. The ragu was a bit plain, and included some large chunks of pork belly fat/gristle. The creme brulee we shared tasted ok but was a strange thick/grainy consistency.
Service was well meaning but not very attentive. We had to open our own beers and wine, and pour our wine all night, plus ask for numerous things like ice buckets. They also served the dishes a few minutes apart without any explanation, so we would end up sitting waiting for each other's meals while food got cold.
But all up the food was pretty good, everyone left full and happy enough.
Three of us had dinner here last night, my Pumpkin and Sage Ravioli was divine, my husband raved about his Open Prawn Ravioli and our friend loved his Gamberi Risotto. The icing on the cake was when the chef made a fresh Tiramisu for our friend who was disappointed this dessert had run out, he had travelled from Perth and didn't think they would do anything.
Congratulations to the chef and staff, had a very enjoyable night and the food was excellent. Oh and the garlic bread was great too. I don't normally give such a rave but I was really impressed with the food.
We had pizza for entree and it was very tasty with lots of topping. The open prawn ravioli was sensational. I love prawns and this was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. The desserts were very disappointing and not refrigerated well so they were warm and runny.
I have no idea what's in the sauce on the open prawn ravioli but I wanted to lick the plate clean, it was divine. Service was slow and it was very hard to catch the eye of any of the wait staff. That's a shame as they let the place down. The creme brulee was ok, but a bit runny. I would happily go here again just for that prawn dish.
The food was very good, however, expect to wait, and wait and eventually the meal will arrive for 1/2 the table while the other 1/2 of the table have to continue to wait. The service is very, very slow. Very cafe in ambience, not a great first impression, would not return.
We have eaten here twice. We aren't the fussiest people but it isn't hard to cook pasta. The first time, my girlfriend's linguini was not cooked properly and was quite rubbery. Apart from this, the highlight of our meal was the tasting plate for 2. It was amazing and some of the best garlic prawns I've ever eaten.
The second time we dined, we left unsatisfied as the food not only came out an hour after we ordered, but the portion of the steak was very small considering its price, and the fact that it was just a sirloin, not a rib eye.
Went there on saturday night with a couple of friends. The service was very good and the staff were helpful. The restaurant was pretty packed and the place had a good vibe. I tried the napolentana pizza and my partner got the chicken penne pesto. The pasta was very good. The pizza was nice, though the base was a bit thick. Nevertheless it was a good night and would go again.
