Kyushu is teriffic. The sashimi bowl, pork maki and tofu are our standard dishes. The eel is great as is the steak sashimi. The restaurant is always busy, service is professional and friendly. We eat there every time we are in Sydney. My wife also loves the tempura dishes. One of the best in town.

I really love the food here as they serve the best chicken and beef teriyaki I have Ever tasted! The restaurant has a casual spacey atmosphere and is always full during lunch times. Looking forward to visiting again in the not too distant future.

This is such an old favourite and always busy, but I went back this week after a hiatus and just want to say, Kyushu you need a revamp. The lighting is so bright and tables very close that it has a hectic feel. The gyoza and agedashi tofu were tasty, and the grilled salmon nigiri was good but a little bland. The pork maki was still tasty but the large pieces are very hard to eat because the shallots were too tough to bite down on. Needs to be more tender or cut smaller.

Sashimi looks as if its been cut by a toddler using a plastic knife. Great big uneven lumps of salmon very unappetising. This place used to be good - what happened?

Food is excellent. Try the pork maki! always busy so wait staff are sometimes hard to get hold of but it is well worth trying this place out.

Kyushu has been a favorite for the past few years. I get cravings for their food if I don't visit every few weeks. Members of my family overseas still rave about the meals they had there when visiting Australia!

Favorites are the sashimi platter and pork maki, the wafu beef and the soft shell crab. Food is always delicious and arrives promptly. Service is always friendly despite sometimes struggling to catch the waiters/ress eye as they are so busy.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is less romantic and more hectic which is great. The place is always packed for dinner, even in the middle of the week which I love.

Being located on Grosvenor St which has seen an increase in restaurants and bars opening in the past couple of years I can say that Kyushu is original and best!

Great food, friendly staff, but very packed and the ambience is not good. The lights feel like you're in a hospital or a dental surgery and the place is in great need of a revamp. Would eat here again based on the food, but would not take friends here as it does not feel nice. If you're reading this Kyushu, you need to renovate!

We had a great meal here. The food was very authentic and tasty, and the prices are good. The service it very good as well, staff are very attentive and service is quick. But I removed a few points in my score for ambience as it was fairly noisy and crowded (Saturday night) and the seats all seem to be too close together. Coupled with the numerous waiters rushing around it made it not feel like a very relaxing place to eat. But we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless, it's not the place for a romantic dinner but it works for a tasty and good value meal with friends.
