Remembered this place from a few years back and gave it a go when we were looking for somewhere close. Really glad to have re-discovered it! We went the BBQ for two with the bibim bap and loved it. The service was wonderful and food is great value.
Food was ok. The waitress did all the cooking for us on the BBQ which took the fun out of the experience and was quite disruptive to our conversations.
Went here years ago and was refused many dishes because they were 'not for Westerners". Thankfully they appear to have dropped that policy. I found all the dishes we ordered to be very tasty and service was prompt and friendly.
My husband spent 2 years in Korea and we went out looking for an authentic Korean restaurant and decided to give the Korean BBQ at Chatswood a go. I cannot speak more highly of this restaurant. Food=Awsome. Service= Fantastic Price= really reasonable. We are looking forward to our next Korean meal and although we live in the east, we are heading back to this restaurant. Worth the travel.
Been going here for years after my sister spent time in Korea and discovered sam gyop sal! We love it - the divine food, the service is always friendly, happy and helpful. Friends from Qld look forwward to going here each time they visit. Only letdown is the small amount in each of the many side dishes you get. Make sure you get the typical Korean chilli sauce with your pork BBQ (sam gyop sal). The sesame sauce is also to die for.
We love the side dishes however at this place, refills were charged without notification. We were horrified to find that the side dishes had cost us an extra main meal. We queried the waitress politely, stated that they charged extra for refills but there was no mention on the menu!. So beware! The food was ok but were disappointed at their "hidden" cost.
What a surprise - great service, great food, surprisingly good value for money and the BBQ's are all fresh and clean. Definitely go for the BBQ option for 2 people - it was pretty sensational, easy to eat and good value. My only disappointment is that there was no coffee - perhaps some barista training would not go astray.
