It is not really a restaurant but more like a takeaway with a bench with bar stools if one prefers to dine in. So the ambience factor is lacking. I like their cook food (the dons) better than their sushi, the Katsu don is always tasty with a good thickness of tender chicken breast, unlike some places where it's just skin and batter. Service is always quick and friendly.

Eat here every few weeks. Service is friendly and fast. Prices are very reasonable. Big sushi rolls for the price with a good amount of filling, great value. Love that it's all made in front of you. Recommend the katsu don and tempura!

The fish they use for the sushi is definitely not sushimi-grade. I found a bone in my salmon roll twice, and most of the time the salmon still has the skin on it. This restaurant has put me off sushi!

My wife and I often eat here. The staff are friendly, service is quick, price is the most reasonable in Kirribilli and the food is great. I strongly recommend the beef udon noodle soup.

I really like having an uncomplicated Japanese nearby for those times when you just don't feel like cooking and don't want anything too disgustingly unhealthy as a takeaway. The sushi is handmade and the whole experience is quick, reasonably priced and tasty - that's enough for me! Even better if they have to make the sushi for you on the spot if they've run out of what you want; there is no way you can't enjoy their sushi when you get it that fresh.

Average japanese food and sushi is expensive here for the quality. The tempura is good though.

Sushis too expensive and the salmon in the sushi is more like trout.. I don't like the idea of how the food sits in the sun for hours on a hot summers day.

I think the taste is very close to real Japanese food and people are nice there. Some Japanese restaurants in Sydney don't cook tasty food but Kirrakaze does!
