Don't think this was on the menu but ordered the 'Siew arp lo mein' (roast duck with noodles on a plate). The plate was large with lots of noodles and they were perfectly cooked but the roast duck had been braised in the gravy too (skin was soft) and I prefer the duck served on the side or on top so that this doesn't happen. Most places I've been to do won't braise the roast duck.

Chairs and tables and menus desperately need a refresh but prices are like they were 10 years ago, about $7-9 for a large plate of noodles. Great value.

The best Chinese food in Sydney, probably the world. We go as often as we can and it never disappoints. Each dish is just succulent and sensational every time. Dirt cheap + BYO. Always packed with nearly all Chinese people. The staff, although flat out, we have always found to be cheerful and obliging. The decor is very very basic but a nice nostalgia kick for those, like me, who fondly recall the local laminexed Chinese cafe d'antan (only the food's much better today).

This restaurant is one of the cheapest around Kingsford. They trade poor service with cheap price. If you want takeaway, or just a random dinner with friends outside, this restaurant is very good. However if you want finer dining, go to other restaurants.

Worsty service ever. The person who run this place has absolute no concept of what is service. Rude and arrogant. You will be lucky if you are able to get the slightest of smile from any of the staff.

Food wise, its alright, good value as its one of the cheapest in the area. But service wise, its the worst. Do not go.

Cheap restaurant. This place suits people who after quantity not quality food. The ambiance is too bad. Both staff and owner are not friendly and helpful at all. But, it is always packed, simply because students love cheap stuff.

I used to go here when I felt like some cheap and cheerful Chinese food but I don't any more. The place is cramped, service is rude and the food can be too full of Msg (or salt). I don't really understand why they are so busy (must be all the students). There are better quality restaurants around the area.

The food is good not great, so many others in Kingsford surpass it by miles. Yes it is cheap, & really that's the only thing going for it. The service is without doubt the worst you will come across in the area. The staff are obnoxious, rude and basically unhygenic practices, touching your food etc. after watching 1 girl ferreting wax or something out of her ear. Sorry but as well priced as it may seem, saving a couple of dollars is just not worth going back again ever.

We would never step into this restaurant again. We used to be a regular customer and we loved the salt & pepper squid. The service is terrible and horifying. We sort of got used to it whenever the waiters throwing plates or act like he/she doesnt care at all, but our experience last time was unforgetable and unacceptable.

We came there for lunch on the weekend with family of 4. Being seated next to the door where the hot wind always blowing inside and the lady in the cashier yelled to us to close the door, which really inappropriate. We are the customer, not her wait staffs.

Once or twice closing the door would be Ok, but not all the time.
The waiter came to gave us the plates, bowls, small cups and chopsticks, and off course with their habit of throwing those in front of us. I had to ask him to change my cup because there were a dried noodle stuck to the inside cup.

He gave me another new cup but that same moment I asked him to change it again as I am so not going to drink from a cup where there is a lipstick stain on it. He started to rumbling in Chinese and look so annoyed and I just thought don't bother, I should save myself and just buy the coca cola can from the fridge instead of having tea with dried noodle & liptstick stain.

After the foods being served, we were in the middle of enjoying our meal and waiting for our 3 dishes. We saw exactly with our own eyes that the very same waiter was picking his nose in front of everyone and straight away serving foods without even bother to wash his hand.

When our 3rd dish came out and being served (yes the same nose picking guy), we just totally lost our appetite and we couldn't and didn't want to finish it then asked for the bill.

He was kind enough to offer us take away container though. As my father needed to use the loo, he went straight to the door with the sign toilet as he knew where it is, but he had a difficulty to open the door.

Instead of telling him nicely, the lady in the reception screamed to him and yelled out loud asked him what does he wants and told him not to use the loo or he can go upstair and use that one.

That manner and her yelling was totally inapropriate and left us the whole family with a huge embarassement as the restaurant were packed, busy and noisy until she screamed, nagged my father publicly and humiliated him.

We had arguments with her and that waitstaff for that issue and humiliation. Instead of saying sorry for publicly humiliated us, she just handed the bill. That would be the last 45 dollar humiliation that we had to experience ever from the horific rude cashier and the worst service that we ever encountered.

House special - sangtung chicken is superb. This restaurant is always crowded, which is a good sign in an area full of restaurants. It's an authentic place, don't confuse that with rudeness. And cheap.
