Came here because no other restaurants were open. But it was not disappointing. The place is very cosy, however, a slight renovation to modernised the restaurant would greatly improve the atmosphere. Overall, the food was great. Mains are better when compared with their dessert and entree.

Four of us lunched here on a rainy Friday. The restaurant was busy, warm and friendly. Service was very good and we were well looked after. The wine list, while not large, features a pleasant well priced range of French and Australian wines - the Elderton Cab Sav 2005 was a delight. Food is sound, fresh and well presented. This is a little restaurant to keep on your list for good mid city dining.

Came here recommended by a friend, we had a lovely intimate dinner. The food was quite tasty and delicious, I love the spaciness I am tired of eating out in crammed noisy restaurants. This was delightful.

I ate here tonight, the first thing I will say it really boarders on been a French restaurant. The décor & ambience of the place were really nice, a very warm homely feel, the tables are well spaced and there is plenty of room.
The service was very good, they tended to our table in a very timely manner without been overbearing however, they didn’t come across as been all that friendly. To begin we shared Sashimi Salmon dish, it was immaculately presented a very light & fresh tasting starter.
For main I had the salt encrusted steak, the presentation was great as they bought up a separate table trolley to serve it on, the salt crust was broken off it was then served directly onto my plate along with some steamed vegetables. It was a simple yet satisfying meal.
My partner ordered the lamb shank unfortunately she was not happy with it. I tried it & had much the same opinion, the lamb had a very strong taste it was served with what seemed to be a thin gravy. It was more like the inside of a hearty casserole, it was complemented by mashed potato & broccoli.
If you are looking for a nice quiet spot for dinner without pretentious food I would give this place a go.

I had a business lunch here on a Tuesday. The food was very good, but the thing that struck me that the tables were really well spaced, it's a great place for a private lunch or dinner. While its a lawyers' hangout for lunch, I think it would be lovely for couples before or after the theatre, because it is an intimate space with nice food. The food was excellent, I had grilled prawns for entree and duck breast for main. I look forward to returning.

If you want a peaceful meal of high quality in the heart of Sydney ... and you don't mind paying for good quality food. This restaurant is for you. One block east up King Street from Martin Place on the southern side.
I'm a regular now and can't praise the place highly enough. Everyone I've taken are all impressed. The menu is interesting, the wine list is excellent (thought not huge), but if you can't make your mind up a bottle of Verve Cliquot is a good bet. The service is attentive, polite and very Asian. I'd hesitate to call this a French restaurant however, as it has some wonderful Japanese items to offer, too.

My husband, friends and I went on a Sat Night. The atmosphere was great. Staff was very attentive. Food was delicious and delight to the senses. I had seared scallops which was divine. And for main I had the Lamb Shanks and mesh. The meal sounds simple, but for the sauce that came with it, I just cannot describe the taste...it was delicious and I just wanted more. A friend had the Zucchini flower and prawns, lovely!!.
We all enjoyed the meal and would definitely be back for more. I thought the atmospehere was great for an intimate dinner with someone special.

This is my favorite French restaurant, because I really enjoy the sauce with either sea food meal or meat dish there. I think there would be a lot of work involved in making it. Also,the price they charge is very reasonable considering
that the restaurant is in the middle of the city. In addition, I have to say that the waitresses were very attentive to customers when I was in the venue.

Our first impression was poor. We arrived and mentioned our booking. The waitresses did not know which table to seat us at and we had to wait while they found us a table. Both waitresses in attendance blamed their boss for the mix up.
The entrees were good and then we waited and waited and waited for our main course to come. When we saw customers at other tables who arrived after us receiving their main courses, we complained one and a half hours after we arrived.
We got some excuse about it being busy and how stressful it was. The waitress we complained to was rude and slammed a wine cork on the table. Her attitude to us was shabby and discourteous. We left without waiting for our main course to come.

Very cozy atmosphere with great service and decent food. Their pre-theatre dining menu was excellent and food came out in a timely manner which was pleasing. It's a bit hard to find even though it's almost directly opposite the Theatre Royal and the MLC building. A hidden gem.
