Have dined here a few times. The food is mostly vegetables, they need more meat. Service is nice, it was busy but they hurry you out early, where as I like to take my time and enjoy the night. The value is okay. Will be returning but not very soon.
I've been here a number of times and have always had an excellent night. Service is very attentive, ambience is lovely and the food is excellent (highly recommend the specials, and especially the stir fried beef and crispy duck with noodles). Excellent value considering the high quality of the food. Definitely recommended!
I reviewed this restaurant earlier in the year with glowing results, have eaten here on several occasions, in both large and small groups. However, on the last two occasions in december (large group) and last wednesday night, (three people) I was very disappointed, not so much with the food, but the service, the staff kept trying to get rid of us, (on both occasions) and that was before 9 pm! The whole night (an hour and a half!) was rushed, couldn't even finish my coffee, won't be returning!
I come here rather often, both for work lunches and for dinner with the girls. Bill is always lovely, knows everyone by name even if you have only been here once. Food is always good if a bit pricey. I think it is the best restaurant in the Epping area.
I'm surprised the service rating is only 7.1. They wait on you hand and foot, very friendly no pressure atmosphere. I can't say I've ever had better service.
Food is very nice and moderate sized portions. Ambience is very nice, classy but not over the top. The price is more on the expensive side for Chinese food.
The food quality is decent. The portions are generous. It is really a value for money eating place. The ambience is nothing to speak of since this is mostly a Take out place rather than an eat in. I would recommend the combination dishes with mangolian lamb and fried rice. The Laksa too is good and could be sufficient for two mid sized people.
I went there with my mum for a quick Saturday lunch but was disappointed with their lunch special. You get to choose from a selection of chicken, lamb, beef etc and an accompanying sauce (curry, spicy, oyster etc).
We ordered the crispy lemon chicken which turned out not to be crispy at all (suspected re-fried or made a while ago) and chicken was dry and bland, and curry lamb which wasn't absolutely fantastic, but average. I can taste the sauce comes from supermarket packet sauces. The portions are very small compared to a typical Chinese restaurant - the focus at Kenny's leans heavily towards Chinese food with a Western focus.
Having eaten dinner here before, which was better, I'd still conclude that with the food served here, the price is too high compared to other Chinese restaurants. However, you get a nicer atmosphere and wine to go with it. If you go to Kenny to get real Chinese food and experience, you'll be fooling yourself. But if want real Chinese food albeit the glamour and price tag, go somewhere else. Otherwise it's average.
We heartedly agree with S&K's comments. If Gordon Ramsey wants to see a good example of Customer Service he should visit Kenny's and watch Billy in action. Billy is sensational and obviously enjoys what he does, which is to make customers feel at home and welcome. He and his colleagues do an excellent job.
The menu has sufficient choices and after one or two visits, you'll know what you prefer over other dishes. Last night we chose well and eat well and chatted with Billy and left smiling. We'll be back and we'll certainly pass the word to friends.
We always have a great time, the service is excellent, the food is great and I must mention Bill. We met Bill (waiter) on first night there and he was very pleasant towards us. Weeks later we came back and he remembered our names and made us feel at home. Months later we went back with the rest of the family and he knows all of us. Always pleasant, funny and generous. A class act!
It's a great place to eat. The food is wonderful, tasty and fresh. The waiters are freindly if not a little funny! Highly recommend dining at this place for a good meal at a reasonable price.
