Check out our unbelievale Yakiniku BBQ Special!!!!
Katsura is a Japanese restaurant with a difference. It is traditional Japanese cuisine fused with some western influences, however, the truly unique aspect of this restaurant is that you can choose the atmosphere for your dining experience.
The Yakiniku or BBQ allows you to choose from a variety of dishes including mouth watering Wagyu beef that you and your friends can cook at your own BBQ on the table. It makes for a fun interactive night out or lunch, and the food is fantastic. You will see why it is regarded as Sydney's best grill buffet.
For those who prefer the professional chefs to handle cooking in an a la carte atmosphere, the Japanese Hall is for you. The modern and relaxed setting and attentive staff will make your intimate dinner with your partner, or relaxed night with friends, a dining experience to remember.
Katsura accepts bookings up to 180 people so keep them in mind for your next group night out or corporate function. Reserve your group early and customise your set menu.

In my opinion, Katsura is the best restaurant in this area, not only for Japanese cuisine but in all. They have good quality food that is consistent throughout the time I started to dine at Katsura and the service they offer is second to none. I think they have developed unique techniques to make us feel very comfortable. I recommend this restaurant to everybody in any occasion.
And don't forget to try their Grilled Wagyu dish. Simply unforgettable taste. Thumbs up.

Dined here with a medium size group on a saturday night. The restaurant was probably only 15% occupied which is interesting considering how busy some of the other Japanese restaurants in this area such as Shimbashi soba & Ju rin are.
This is a Japanese restaurant owned and operated by Korean people. The calibre of their produce is quite good, however, there is clearly a difference between Japanese cuisine served and prepared by Koreans as compared to Japanese. This Korean/Japanese restaurant is better than most, however, still lacks authentic flavours and sushi/sashimi prep skills compared to the 2 aforementioned restaurants owned and operated by Japanese.
The service was reasonable, but lacked in professionalism. There is no excuse why a waiter should sit at a guest's table when taking your order unless that person is your friend or family.

Excellent food, great service. I never ask for Japanese desserts but Katsura's ones are delish! Great restaurant, loved it.

The "Yakinku Buffet" tastes quite good but not satisfying - because it is Korean BBQ instead of yakinku indeed. Excellent service.

I love this place! They have the best and freshest sashimi including raw scampi which is just amazing! I have only ever eaten in the restaurant section and have never been dissapointed (they also have a Korean BBQ section which I have never tried.) I often get the $10 lunch box which is fantastic value and always excellent. Now I am pregnant, the staff always ensure my food is well cooked and served piping hot. The building is not in great shape (stay away from the Bidet) and the service may be slow but the food is just outstanding!

Amazing. Been to many Japanese resturants, including Tetsuyas, but this is the best by far. Always fresh, constantly consistant, it is honestly the best Japanese I have had in Sydney. The softshell crab karagee, Yum! Wagyu beef serloin, Super Yum! The tuna tataki is fresh and the spinach salad has an awesome dressing. Food comes quick, service is receptive. Price is worth it.

Pretty average. The service is Terrible, you have to ask for everything, a drink, chase up ordered meals that haven't come, etc. There were a couple of broken glasses by a waitress. We got someone else's order and ate it. We then found out it wasn't our order. We had the banquet but the meat felt chewy. Hazelnut ice cream was pretty good (best part of the meal). Not sure if I would bother coming back.

We had Yakiniku (BBQ) buffet at this restaurant for Mother's Day and the experience we had was just terrible. Three main reasons why we had a poor experience:
Firstly, their food is very inconsistent. Their California roll taste nothing like one. Several meat dishes we had weren't cut properly (way too thick), which makes the meat not chewable. Way to waste some good meat!
Second, their service is way too slow. It took an average of 20 minutes for an order to come to the table, no wonder their buffet does not have a time limit!
Thirdly, their staff is inexperienced, and often orders are simply forgotten. We ordered three dishes of salmon sashimi at the very beginning, and they never came in the end, despite several reminders and follow-ups.
It is also worth mentioning that this restaurant (the Yakiniku side) is definitely a Korean BBQ restaurant rather than Japanese. Overall, the buffet we had was definitely not worth my $34 pp.

Went here with the family for a birthday and enjoyed the Yakiniku (BBQ) Buffet. The buffet itself was reasonable since it costed $38 dollars per person and also had no time limit. There was a nice selection of meats to select of which took up almost one page (of interest was the beef harami and beef kalbi) as well as their other dishes included in the second page of the menu (I recommend the seafood pancake as it came out quite well and had a nice crispy outer layer!). The staff in general were very attentive and the food was brought out without much delay.
