Meh, just stew, still tasty. Once doesn't hurt.

Visited this place last night, and to be totally honest, we shouldn't have walked in after seeing that there was only 1 table seated inside, the sign on the outside mentioning how they are willing to open the store during the day if you called them. Prices were ridiculous a serving of main around $15 for a portion less that of an entree. It was served as if they were trying to save their sauces, by watering it down, and then having the guts to charge 50c a glass for tap water...
This restaurant/retail shop should really make its mind up to what it really wants to sell, it should focus in on one as its not doing a great job multi-tasking.

This was my first Nepalese experience and it was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is intimate with a very authentic Nepal feel to it. The food was fresh, tasty and well present. We were served by the owner and he is just a delightful man and very attentive. Overall this is one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time! Will return.

We will definitely return. In summary:
* Food was delicious although servings where a little smaller than your average Indian restaurant. This was a revelation for us since it meant we were able to taste three courses without feeling horribly bloated like you would at most places.
* Quaint little shop with excellent ambience. Situated at the Sydney uni end of Newtown which makes for easier parking on a Saturday night.
* Service was fantastic. Friendly and attentive waiter.
* Prices were appropriate, probably more than appropriate in most cases. Three courses for around $30 each.
To buy into the cheese spring roll saga...They weren't anything special, and tasted much like you would expect a spring roll to taste with the cheese replacing the veges. Probably not the best entree they had, but after the other comments, we couldn't resist tasting them.

Perhaps I expected too much after reading the other good reviews on this site, but I found this restaurant to be disappointing. The portions were tiny, and despite some of the other comments, the cheese spring rolls were dull, tasteles and entirely uninspriring. On the up side, the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant (which doubles as a shop for Nepal-related curios) was interesting, and had a nice atmosphere. Overall, I don't regret going, but I probably won't be back.

Excellent, excellent! Very charming restaurant with delightful, attentive staff and great food! I eat out a lot, but had never eaten Nepalese before and it was really nice to try something a bit different. The food was a little bit like Indian but very yummy and different. A unique and very enjoyable experience!

Best kept secret when it comes to Nepalese food in Sydney. I particularly love the cheese spring rolls.
