We ordered off this place on the strength of reviews on this site, I must say we were sadly disappointed, bland tasteless food, even the rice was bland, all the fried entrees were soaked in oil, I would give it a miss in the future, there are alot better places to eat Chinese in the Shire.

Clean warm and friendly well cooked cuisine happened by the place and will refer people. Good pricing fast and pleasant experience.

Just got back from eating at Kareela Chinese Restaurant. Great food, fast and efficient service will definitely be back. The San Choy bow was excellent, had large lettuce leaves and plenty of filling. The lamb pancakes are to die for, the rusty nail was fantastic and top it off the fried ice cream took me to a place I never been before. Will be back again.

This has been my local for years now and even when I go to the city or other areas, nothing beats this place for great priced take away/home delivery and old school Chinese flavours. My faves are the chicken and eggplant, lamb pancakes, bacon and prawn roll, the laksa is fantastic and great price! Garlic chicken is great also. When I lived out of the area for a few years, it was certainly what I missed!

Good quality food, great prices and fast service. It is getting hard to find good old fashioned chinese food like this.

Tina and Albert are great hosts and the Chinese cuisine is probably the best in Sydney. Great for take away. Ask about deep fried egg plant sandwich which is not on the menu. Prices are good and take away outstanding.

The only chinese restaurant we will use in the Sutherland Shire now. The food is the freshest and tastiest we've found. The lamb pancakes entree is out of this world and they do a great hoi sin chicken and rusty nails too. Excellent service and great communication/service with home delivery too.

They do a fantastic value takeaway lunch deal. Food is average, not bad but not fantastic. If you're comparing to the rest of the Chinese in the area then it is actually really good. It is convenient, service if great, the people who run it are really nice, food is always quick and is a good fall back when you have a hankering for Chinese close to home.

It is a hit and miss on the menu items though, some dishes are actually very very good others not great at all. So I think like most locals you find out what your favourites are, order those and you are never disappointed. Try their seasonal specials. Also the eggplant and pork mince deep fried things mentioned in another review are really really good.

Made the mistake of going here based on other reviewers' recommendations. You guys need to go out more. Very ordinary, bland offerings here. The soft shell crab was like KFC popcorn chicken and "fillet steak" was a very low quality cut. Better to be had elsewhere. Fast and friendly service to be commended.
