We ordered special set which the steaks were all overcooked, tough and tasteless. Pricey and bad service. The miso soup tasted like water. Took forever to get your meal.
Even if you are a terrible cook at home, you could have served food better than them.

Terrible food, wobbling tables, noisy restaurant. Set menus are poorly designed, cooked and overpriced.
Asked for the tea from the set menu and were told we would only get that at the end. I want my tea Now! I will not recommend this place to anyone! What a waste of money!

They were pricey and horribly presented. the worst Japanese restaurant that I have ever been to in my life. Staff did not know what they were serving.

The Teppanyaki style is something I'm new to, but personally having everything served together is how I like it.
The service was fast, the staff were friendly, the ambience was very nice, although only one side of the restaurant was air conditioned.
You get served Miso soup and rice before your main meal. You also get served 3 dipping sauces. I ordered Macky's special with Steak and Cuttlefish. The cuttlefish was bland and chewy, but you can't blame the chef for the nature of the meat. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious.
The meals are probably over priced, but generally I recommend visiting.

This restaurant is by far the worst Japanese restaurant that I have ever been to in my life. The super deluxe and macky's choice meals had meat that all tasted the same: bland and sickening. They were pricey and horribly presented, my guests and I didn't come to have messy looking stir fries at a Japanese restaurant. I've had far better stir fries. The miso soup and dressing on the salad tasted watered down. All four of us wanted to share one entree and only received one bowl of soy sauce. Our mains took very long to arrive.
The drinks were expensive. For $17 you can only pour out 4 and a half shot-cups of hot sake from one bottle. We also asked for water but they never arrived. The venue had a good view, was nightly lit but was awfully noisy.

What an awful experience. This was not what I expected after having been to several teppanyaki reataurants before.
I agree with the previous review that the food was very poorly presented. Everything was whacked onto a plate. It looked like a typical stir fry which can be easily done at home, instead I was charged $79 for 2 people for something that was tasteless. Also, the overall teppanyaki experience was missing.
Staff did not know what they were serving as one did not know what sesame seeds were. The waiters hovered around like security guards and staff had poor communication resulting in several repeated disturbances during our meal which was unnecessary.
I would not go here again and I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to pay triple the price for food that is easily done at home and probably better tasting.

Went here for dinner on Friday night, it was really quiet for a friday night. We ordered "Kamikaze NSW" $79.00 for 2 people, it says filet mignon, King Prawns, Chicken! We started with salad - and miso soup, then came the main dish. It all cooked in one big plate, very poorly presented, this is definitely not what I expected at all!
The food is really underwhelming and unprofessionally cooked. The taste is way below average, honestly speaking it is on the same comparison to the food they serve on the food court!
I'm really really disappointed with this restaurant and will not come back here to dine ever again.

I went with my husband to dinner at Kamikaze on a Saturday night. First of all, this is straightly speaking Not a teppanyaki restaurant. It does have chefs cooking on the grill but everything was cooked at the same time and served to you on one single plate.
For example, we ordered the combo called WA which included steak, scallop, prawns and salmon. Instead of traditional teppanyaki which the chef will cook one thing at a time and serve to you one by one, they were cooked all at the same time and were served to us on one single plate with vegetables. It doesn't matter where you sit, whether you sit on tables or in front of the grill, they are all done the same way.
So there is no different than ordering one cooked plate of the abovesaid four things on the same plate. The amount of food was a lot and the quality was Ok but not great. We also ordered a salmon sashimi as entree. We finished the whole meal in less than an hour which you will never be able to do if you are doing the "real" teppanyaki.
But again, you won't be paying $89 for two to have the four ingredients in a traditional teppanyaki. It will cost you more if you go to a decent one. But then for $89 to have two plates of not very well presented and not very special food is a bit on the high side. My husband and I won't be going back.

Went to this Restaurant tonight with a group of friends, and, unfortunately, it will be last time coming here.
First impression of the Restaurant is contemporary, nice and clean. The Teppenyaki chefs seem to be enjoying themselves and interacting with the people around the barbeque area. The view of the Harbour is pleasant especially at night with the lights from the buildings opposite painting the water.
Service is a major let down. We asked for water three times and it never came out, however, they were very fast to provide alcoholic drinks. I ordered a Lychee Martini which tasted more like a mocktail than actually containing Vodka. Plates and other items were just left at our table instead of taken away completely. The place was not full for a Friday night. I saw no excuse for this to not be done!
The food was underwhelming. Compared to other Teppenyaki I have tried, this did not represent value for money. As a starter got the Tempura Seafood platter which was enjoyable though the condiments that came with it were useless and not explained as to what they were. I had to guess. I got the shared Kamikaze Seafood Supreme and for $120 it's nothing spectacular. I enjoyed the scallop, the rest I found a chore to eat and only did so because I was hungry. I was still hungry after it. You get one plate of vegies and seafood.
Darling Harbour in general needs to pick up its game. I used to eat out around here all the time years ago, now... I am reluctant. Go elsewhere for half the price and double the quantity and quality.
