All our Chinese friends in the area come here for yum cha and we go with them and get impeccable service. Better yum cha in the city but this place score well because they let you take all the time in the world and keep the stock and variety of dishes (particularly har gow) throughout the service.
We had yum cha there for lunch and were seated upstairs. Food was ok, if we managed to get some. During the entire time we were there, the waitresses with the dim sum trolleys kept on avoiding our corner of the restaurant. When we asked for some service or ordered some food, we had to wait for a very long time, and they'd usually come back with the wrong dishes (if they ever come back at all). Not to mention their face seems like we owed them money or something. Not sure if I'd want to go back again for that type of service.
The food at this place was average and the service was terrible. The waiters basically ignored our table of 8 all night, and were rude when we asked for menus or water. Very dissatisfied with the general ambience and service. Also it was highly overpriced for the quality of food.
Ate Yum cha here and was greeted by one of the friendly wait staff and taken to our seat. The trolleys kept coming and the food was excellent. Our tea was refilled quickly and when I made a special request for tripe, the waiter went out of his way to bring it over personally. Have been here many times and have never been disappointed, except when it is busy and you can't get a seat.
This is great food we go quite often, me and my partner. Service is good but the Asian to English translation of food gets lost sometimes. We go because the food is good so overall it is a pleasant experience. Only comment is I wish there was more space between tables, very crammed. I am a big fan of their steamed dumplings, they are very yummy. A must try when you go.
We had yum cha, mid week and the place was packed. Great range of foods, dumplings, congee, plates of BBQ pork and duck, seasoned oysters and desserts. Better than a lot of haymarket yum cha I've had. Slight complaint was that some of the dishes weren't terribly hot by the time they'd meandered their way towards us.
Worth a visit for the excellent food (mid-week lunch-time yum-cha), however, be prepared for the unfriendly service. We were told there was a 15 min wait to get in, then 3 mins later missed our number being called. Tables are cleverly arranged for maximum capacity giving that sardine effect.
The food gets delivered regularly and is really good. You have to beckon the right sort of waiter to get a drink, and then a different one to get the bill, and that was the only time we received a smile - when we paid. Come on, this is a business and I am sure they are raking it in.
Recently had a dinner here. The steamed trout was fresh, the duck tasted great. The dishes are not cheap but you get a large serving that can be split among many people. If you can get a large group to come with you, you might also get your own room, which is more intimate than the large main seating area.
Excellent food at Yum Cha (lunch), dinner is quite bad. Service can be variable depending on how busy it is, but generally good. Yum Cha Food quality is very good, with authentic Chinese dishes. Arrive early on weekends as it gets VERY busy. Easy to park in Westfield. Getting quite expensive though, most dishes are 'large' or 'special.
One of the largest in Chatswood, and good for mid-week yum cha. Weekends get busy - Sunday ... incredible ! Been going here for year - food is always good, though they often drop off basic dishes like Chickens Feet !! The prices have been going up fairly steeply, and watch out for the special dishes!!!!
