We haven't been to Kam Fook for a few years and the quality and service seems to have dropped tremendously since.

Went on Saturday afternoon at 2pm with my wife and was immediately ushered to a table. We were left there for 5-10 minutes, before a waitress came over to take our dim sum order. We told her that our tea is not even served and she said she would get someone. A couple of dim sums came but still no tea.

Finally, I had to call the senior staff over and told him that no one had served us tea. No apologies, just a grunt. Thought the service was bad enough, the food was even worse. The prawn dumpling (har gow) and chive dumpling were overcooked and the skin was very mushy and thick. It was probably one of the worst dumplings we had in Sydney. We had 3 other non-dumpling dishes which were Ok, but not outstanding.

For what we got, it's certainly overpriced. Given that we had yum cha here years ago, this was a shocking experience and won't be back again.

We went for dinner at this place. The service is good and staffs are attentive. Food is also good. We like the wasabi beef cubes. Had yum cha a few times previously. The service was still reasonable considering the weekend crowd. It is one of the best yum cha places.

Unlike some of the reviewers, my experience in Kam Fook was all good. We sat in a corner table near the windows, lovely views and very bright. On Sat noon the restaurant was full but no queues. Service was attentive and pleasant, all dishes were hot (and some, like noodles and vegetarian cheong fun, were made to order) and the dumplings extra large. Loved the salt and pepper crab too. My best Yum Cha experience in Sydney to date (and I've been to quite a few!).

My daughter was married at Kam Fook Bondi and we ordered the Chinese banquet 13 courses. We were only served 12 courses. They offered to send us a $200 food voucher. After 2 months we are still waiting! Beware these people are dishonest! Food was Ok but extremely small serves!

Went here on Sunday afternoon (10.30 ish). The place still empty, but the waiter has a big attitude. Feels like I want to punch him on the face! After we seated, the first trolley full of dim sum came and we ordered two types that we likes. And then another trolley came, with the Same thing! And then the initial trolley, then the 2nd trolley, and so on and so on. We asked 2 waitresses about other stuff and all they say is "Wait".

So finally we asked another lady who has better English, she said we have to order the Non dim sum menu. And then I asked her for a menu (because I don't know what I can order), she said they don't have one. So I order based on our experience with other more professional Yum cha place.

The food was ok, Really overpriced ($5.80 is the cheapest that we have that day and $12 for Chinese Broccoli) and with minimum selection and rude staff, I think I will never go back to this place.

Just had Friday dinner at KF, the food was terrible. It used to be quite good, but now it was bad and frankly strange.

We had the following: stuffed tofu, the prawn stuffing the tofu was more cornflour than prawn, awful. Bbq pork neck, although pork neck is a great meat, KF managed to serve something that was unevenly cooked, unevenly chopped, and marinated in a bizarre, caramelised sauce that smelt like vanilla (?!) that we had to wait ages for after ordering.

This place has seen better days, the roast pork used to be great, as was the mustard cubed beef. The ambience is a bit variable, which is acceptable if the food is great, but, unfortunately, this wasn't the case.

First time here for yum cha. Normally we go to the one in Chatswood. We got there @about 12:30 and did not have to wait which was really good as my 2 yo boy was hungry. We were seated about 2 tables from the entrance and we thought it's not bright enough.

Food wise was very disappointing. There were not many varieties. To make it worse the prawn in the prawn rice roll dish was cold. We also overheard our next table complaining about a dish that it was cold. They asked a waiter to heat it up.

Service was good. They are not like other typical Chinese restaurant. Maybe because most of the diners here are Caucasians rather than Asians so they have to be more polite.

3 of us including a 2 year old, we had a total about 5 dishes and the bill was $50 which was ridiculous. We thought it was a mistake. I must say this was our first & last to this joint.

Went to Kam Fook for Yum Cha on Saturday lunch. The service was friendly and efficient and we were seated near the window which was signicantly brighter than most of the restaurant. However, the food compared to other popular Sydney Yum Cha venues was over-priced ($90 for 3 no alcohol) and the dumplings which should be the highlight were bland and the dough was far too gelatinous.

Tried this place for the first time today even though we've known about it for a long time. Pretty good, in terms of everything.

Of course there was the usual queuing up for yum cha, and although this place does not disperse tickets or take names, waiting patrons were seated fairly according to the number of people for each table. Wait staff were very organised and any requests we made were happily attended to in a timely manner.

In terms of food, I found there was not as much variety offered in the food carts going around, but some of the dishes we asked for were made fresh to order, so it's not that they don't have it, you just have to ask for it. Adore the salt and pepper squid, excellent flavour and a very light batter compared to other places we've tried. Custard tarts are also a winner.

Overall, pretty average in price and a meal for two summed up to around $55. Will return for future visits as I was pretty impressed with this experience today.

This is the third time I have been to this restaurant and I am again disappointed with the service. We were again put upstairs resulting in the food coming in dribs and drabs. The service is also shocking with little english understood (how many ways can I say "do you sell beer") by some of the staff. The others that could understand what we were asking either ignored our request for more food or just walked away. It got so bad that we started going out into the corridors to find food that we wanted.

What ever you do, make sure that you get a table downstairs during yum cha as you will get to see little of the food upstairs.
