The restaurant looks great... Unfortunately the ambience was not exactly as good as I expected. The food was nothing special. Expected more favour and food for the prices. The service was attentive however, it was weird dining with the family who own the restaurant sitting a couple tables over having a meal & serving us at the same time. Not a completely bad experience, as they do allow BYO.
Really lovely twist on traditional Japanese, carried off beautifully. The eggplant sushi is divine. The sushi train style set-up makes it a little tricky to enjoy with more than two people, but it has a calm relaxing ambience on the quieter weeknights and a great buzz on weekends.
Been here a few times now and have had a great experience everytime. The menu items have been varied everytime and are always interesting and tasty (last time I had roast duck sushi rolls, YUM!). I generally am unfazed by decor as long as the food is good, however, I am told by my style guru friend that the decor is modern and warm (I guess that relates to good date venue!) at any rate, good food, friendly service and well priced, can't go wrong here.
My new favourite sushi/sashimi restaurant. Great value and a huge variety. The Yakitory is tender and moist and the mixed tempura excellent value. The sushi is artfully dished up at reasonable prices, compared to other sushi trains in the area. I'll be back.
Kai on King feature a rotating belt along an oval track serving fresh sushi on an instant notice. They also offer other Japanese menu items, all are good, and made quickly. Try the spicy tuna roll, it's awesome!
The sushi plates here range from $2.50 to $4.50 and you'll find some interesting and yummy choices. The decor is slightly above the rest as is the food. Service was good, would definitely come back here for tasty and fresh sushi.
Best sushi I've had in ages, the eggplant was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try some of the menu items, they seem to have some dishes you can't get in Japanese restaurants in Australia.
