A real treat. Family friendly. Delightful staff and very good food. Mezze tuesday is a great way a sampling, lots of interesting food without tummy blow-out.

Greek food at its best in Sydney. This place is a true gem, it has all the true flavours of Greek Cuisine and what it should be. It is so traditional that it is home cooking. If you want the best come here. Both myself and wife found this place by mistake and keep coming back. How can you complain about this place, the people complaining are obviously envious competition. Definitely 10 out of 10 here!!! Keep up the fantastic food guys, you are doing a great job !!!

The service was very quick, almost too efficient except, they forgot to bring us our drinks. It didn't really matter because we received complimentary un-filtered water for the table. Before we asked for the bill, the waitress realised she had forgotten our drinks and brought us a plate of bougatsa on the house. I can't even remember the last time that happened to me in Sydney. I would definitely go back again.

If you believe in the phrase 'the customer is always right', then it's probably best to avoid this place!! The food was average considering the amount we paid. The service that the senior staff offered was appalling. don't think I've ever encountered somebody so rude. It's safe to say we won't be back!!!

Came on a busy Saturday night (with pram), and the staff were very accommodating and attentive in regards pram etc.- off to a good start. I have rated service a 7, just because they were a little forgetful at times, but very nice overall. Food was good, not stellar, but good Greek fare all the same. Lamb was the pick of our selections. Good atmosphere created by the music, the setting and the staff.

Excellent food and service and reasonably priced. A little on the noisy/crowded side but thoroughly recommended!

Service was good, nice taverna/cafene' setup. Dips were tasty. Loukaniko well not authentic but convinced my party, the lamb sealed in sauce and cheese was a nice change to the regular meals, we ate plenty we enjoyed the meals.

Four of us went here a couple of week ago on a Saturday night and I can't wait to return. It was my first visit in about 2 years, Don't know why I had forgotten this place. We had an early booking and sat right next to the kitchen, a great spot to see what everyone else is ordering before you make a choice. We ordered lots of entree and about 2 mains and shared everything. The food was fantastic lots of flavours and some not so usual items. My only disappointment were the dolmades. The staff and chef are really friendly, and waiters were extremely helpful with the menu. We had a fantastic night. Would highly recommend this venue, gets noisy as the night goes on but that's just everyone having a great time. Enjoy

Feeling like Greek cuisine and having read the reviews we thought we would give Kafenes a go. We went on a Saturday night and they were busy but not full. Our meals arrived quickly however. I had the slow cooked lamb which I thought was lacking a bit in flavour but was plentiful. My partner had the seafood platter which I must say upon tasting was delicious.

Unfortunately the service had become non-existent as soon as our mains hit the table so we didn't get to try their coffee or dessert. We will probably go elsewhere before returning.

Having read the various reviews we thought that overall Kafenes sounded pretty good. On arrival the waitress was very attentive and the dips and pita's arrived promptly and were very tasty. As more people started to arrive the service became stretched and we had to eventually ask how our main courses were going. After about 45 minutes we got the mains and overall they were pretty disappointing. The lamb dishes whilst tender lacked flavour as did the calamari and the mixed grill. We ordered a large Greek salad which we were billed for but hadn't received. Overall a very disappointing experience and yes we will take the advice of the die hards and go elsewhere.
