Nothing special. Just OK. The worst part of the whole experience is water (tasted like tap water) offered, poured and then billed at $2 per glass! Never been charged for water yet!

Went here for the $33 lunch special, which you choose 3 dishes from a list of 10 available. Sushi was good. The highlight was the grilled scallop/oysters. Very melt-in-your-mouth. The teriyaki chicken was good, decent proportion.
You need to book this place otherwise you won't get a seat. Mostly business clientele. The head waitress was hot!...so was her sister at the front. Overall enjoyed the lunch experience. Price is on the higher range. Will be back to try dinner menu. Highly recommended.

This place is expensive but, in my opinion, very much worthwhile. We were taken here by a friend who has recently returned from living in Japan and were told it is as close to an authentic japanese dining experience as you can get in Sydney.
We had the $70 pp banquet which involved 7 courses of some of the most delicious Japanese food I have eaten, accompanied by some excellent sake. The staff were very polite and professional. By the end of the night we were very full, and our mouths were tingling from the different flavours.

Food was fantastic. Traditional Japanese flavours with Western favourites - Salad, fish, etc. Each dish (Spinach- Appetiser, Carrot-Appetiser; spicy tuna hand roll, Tooth fish, tofu salad) was tasty and satisfying, however, they are very expensive for what they are. Specifically, you could get the same elsewhere and pay less, and I have. The decor needs an update. Its looking worn and tired and could use some new stuff.
The service was quite good. Meals were brought fast although the service lacked warmth. Would have been nice to feel more welcome. Value, as noted before, is not good. However, the food taste is unfaltering, so you pay for it.
Overall, a nice place to eat a few times but will not be in my list of regulars due to price, lack of warmth in service, and tired decor, simply does not feel like good value for money, thus a tainted-feeling experience results. Worth trying at least once if you are a Japanese fan, you may have a better overall exerience than I did. Hope that helps.

We had the $70 set menu with sashimi, tempura, sushi or noodles, dessert and more. The sashimi was amazingly fresh, the sushi the best that I've had in Sydney in the last 10 years (good size, held together, beautiful sushi rice, touch of wasabi, absolutely fresh and beautifully cut piece of sashimi on top), and the rest of the meal was equally good.
Service was a little rushed but very friendly and nothing to complain about. A little pricey but definitely good value for what you get. I dare say in terms of the food that it offers it is better made than Tetsuya's last time I went.

We went to this place during lunch time. We've been to this restaurant for dinner several times and was great experience because the food was quite nice. But this time, we were disappointed a lot. I think the service there is terrible. It seems staffs are not well trained and one male staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. We'll never come back to this place again. It is very sad because this place used to be my favorite sushi restaurant.

Agree with below comments, food is delicious but a bit pricey. I guess that has to do with the mainly business clientele they get here. We went for dinner and got the Entree Tasting Platter (this is highly recommended), Sashimi Platter (~$60), Teriyaki Chicken ($27), Kushiage Plate (~$25), a la carte Sushi ($6-9 per piece) and the Dessert Tasting Platter (~$15).
Service is generally friendly, helpful, professional and unobtrusive. However, I found it a bit weird that the Sashimi Platter came before the entree. Chef's selection sashimi was extremely fresh, the kingfish and salmon were particularly good. Can't say the same for the a la carte sushi, price per piece was not good value and was not very fresh (bad choice on my part perhaps?).
Kushiage, teriyaki and dessert were tasty. All up $200 for two people dinner including drinks. I would recommend coming here, at least once or even more, if you don't mind the prices.

The food here is great but a bit pricey. Had the toro sushi last time I went (2 piece for $17!) which was absolutely delicious though! The teriyaki chicken is huge and tasty and the sushi very fresh. A nice quiet restaurant, the desserts are also fabulous!

Dined for 2 pplz. Very fresh sashimi! You pay for what you get, $26 for 3 thick pieces of tuna and 3 salmon and presentation is nice as well, especially the whole yellowfin tuna ($14). Stonegrill waygu is also very very tasty, forget about the sauce that they give you though. Seaweed salad was also very tasty. And we ordered a grilled soya salmon, 3 cutlets, very generous servings. But no rice.
Service is good, always with a smile but when it gets busy it can get average and ambience is quite and neat.
