It' a traditional Japanese small family run Teishoku place. It's small inside and the decor hasn't been updated for a long time, but they are not trying to be something they are not, that's what we like.

The food is tasty and value for money. Katsu Curry is $9! Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen's soup is tasty too. Heart warming food. Took me back to Japan's corner restaurant.

It's a cheap little place. Not somewhere you'd "dine out", but the food's quick, tasty and cheap. I think you get more quality than for what you pay for.

Best food in neutral bay. I leave feeling so full everytime. I cannot recommend it enough.

The food is good comfort food, but my only complaint is the bentoo is usually filled with ingredients that are not fresh. Lots of pickled or preserved foods.

This is the perfect, fast, great value local Japanese eatery. I have eaten here more days then there are in the year. Definitely recommend the Nabeyaki Ramen -a beautiful ramen noodle soup in a hot pot (don't forget to stir once you get it as there is a fresh egg dropped in it), Katsu Curry with Prawn or Chicken, Chicken Teryaki Don (the secret is onion) and Salmon/Avocado roll.

Friendly service, consistently tasty food, relaxed eating environment. Definitely recommend!!

Kabocha has been my group of friends go to eatery for the last 4 years and it has never disappointed. Food is as authentic as in Tokyo and prices are very 1990s so you can eat very well for not a lot of money. Best value is the ramen set: I personally recommend the Karaage ramen and chicken katsu don combination.

Service is efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere could only be described as 'efficient' also. Don't expect a fine dining experience, but if you're after a casual lunch or dinner with authentic Japanese food in Neutral bay you can't go past Kabocha.

Have done Kabocha twice for take away in the last month, including last night. For $15 you get a mountain of food. The sushi rolls are huge, and Bento boxes are great value. Definitely worth a go for a satisfying Japanese cheap eat.
