Absolute fave! This place has contributed much to the increasing waistline and deserves special mention in having a special role in raising me second to only my mum and maybe maccas. Porridge sets for under $7 are absolute value. Love the Salt n Pepper Pork chops/ribs with runny egg! They open till 12 am on most days! An absolute plus!

You don't go to this take away stall for ambience! You go for great value, large servings of cracker food! Pork chop, salt and pepper fish, beef noodles etc, it goes on. All are fresh, tasty and we like it. This is not where Maccas once was, that is in Rowe St unless 2 places got the same name.

The food is reasonably priced but very greasy. Cheap. I was very disappointed.

K&J have been there since early mid 90's. McDonalds used to be where Virginia/V&G/Lucky Food and now Sun Ming restaurant is. Having said that the food is great in value and quality. I love the Beef Fried Rice. Portions are massive too! It does however lack the "normal" ambience but it process a buzz that is rare in Australia and has done very well to emulate the HK dai pai dong.

This place rocks...The building was in its past life a McDonalds...Whilst many mourned the loss of the fast food giant in Eastwood, I personally think its a cause for celebration... Especially thanks the amazing restaurant that took its place.

The food here is delicious, my personal favourite being the stir fried beef with flat rice noodles... Every Chinese restaurant I visit, I order this dish to compare it to the K&J version, and nothing has come close. These guys cook great food (however I did find the honey kind prawns a little under par, just once)....

Like many Chinese places, they have pictures of the most popular dishes, so if you can only speak English like myself all you have to do is point (note - many children of the staff work from time to time in the place and they have great English skills and are happy to translate if you get stuck)...This place is YUM YUM YUM

K & J is without a doubt cooks the best Chinese /Cantonese food in the Eastwood/Ryde area. It is extremely popular with the local Chinese community (which includes me)...so you know it's good. (Chinese knows Chinese food sort of thing). One of my favourite dishes there is the salt/pepper tofu (spicy/fried). It is a takeaway place as it is just a stall on the corner. So obviously lacks ambience [unless you like the street-side stall type ambience :) ]

The low mark for ambience is for it is mainly a takeaway.

This is my fave and local hangout. They make the best wontons and the quality of the food rivals big restuarants. Outside seating only so bring warm clothes in winter. always busy at night.... highly recommended!
