Food here was a bit hit and miss, with some dishes being really good and others a bit too gluggy. The Shandong Chicken was great and the wontons in the wonton soup were silky with good flavours, but give the chicken and rice noodle dish a miss.

I didn't quite know what to do with the score for ambience. I loved the chaotic buzz around the area as it reminded me of Hong Kong, but we were essentially just set up on slanting unwiped tables in the midst of the store's sidewalk takeaway business.

Our family have been eating here for years and never get tired of the dishes. Great food, big serves, great value and quick!. As for ambience, sitting at tables on the sidewalk on a hot summer night feels like you're in SEAsia!

Wow! I wish I had discovered this place before! The food is inexpensive, serving portions are generous, the flavor is really good, there are lots of choices on the menu, and to top it off, it's open til midnight 6 nights a week! Can't beat this.

This is a family run takeaway eatery (with a few seats on the side walk). It's has been one of the chinese eateries that have been here since the 90s, while the others continually change management. This shows that they must be doing something right.

Food: Simply put, the food is awesome. It is undoubtedly the best chinese takeaway shop in Sydney. Personal faves are the eggplant in fish sauce and the salt and pepper pork chop with scrambled egg. With the eggplant, when they do it right, it has the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. Yes the food is abit greasy, but it really depends on what you order. Other items on the menu I've tried have 'merely' been good so I've stuck to my personal favourites.

Overall, would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quick, delicious chinese meal. I was raised up with this place, so it does hold a special place in my heart.

Absolute fave! This place has contributed much to the increasing waistline and deserves special mention in having a special role in raising me second to only my mum and maybe maccas. Porridge sets for under $7 are absolute value. Love the Salt n Pepper Pork chops/ribs with runny egg! They open till 12 am on most days! An absolute plus!

You don't go to this take away stall for ambience! You go for great value, large servings of cracker food! Pork chop, salt and pepper fish, beef noodles etc, it goes on. All are fresh, tasty and we like it. This is not where Maccas once was, that is in Rowe St unless 2 places got the same name.

K&J have been there since early mid 90's. McDonalds used to be where Virginia/V&G/Lucky Food and now Sun Ming restaurant is. Having said that the food is great in value and quality. I love the Beef Fried Rice. Portions are massive too! It does however lack the "normal" ambience but it process a buzz that is rare in Australia and has done very well to emulate the HK dai pai dong.
