This place is more about the atmosphere than the food. The seating layout of the restaurant lends itself to a casual, fun filled experience and the staff were friendly. Everyone has to take their shoes off and sit at a low table in a timber pit which I think is great because making customers do something a little out of the ordinary makes this place memorable. The food however, wasn't that great. The menu didn't offer much originality and it's a pity for this because having a few special dishes would really make this place stand out from other Japanese restaurants.

I went with a group of 5 for dinner and I found the food somewhat dull. It didn't glow with freshness and wasn't as exciting as you would expect, considering the atmosphere.

Went to Ju Ju with a group of 25 (their max for the group buffet they serve).

Atmosphere is fun and different, makes dining with a group more exciting. Food was great and very plentiful! Really impressed with the quality of the dishes they brought out and for 25 bucks didn't think we'd get much but was I wrong... Very full by the time the last dish came out. Service was ok... the guys that were serving us did well to cater to the 25 random people all milling around ordering random amounts of alcohol but they were completely unpersonable. This may be due to the fact that we were making our own fun and the couldn't be bothered trying to be nice but we didn't even get a word out of them all night. A more enthusiastic staff would definitely make for better restaurant. Other than that pretty damn impressed. Awesome place for groups.

Ju Ju is a good option if you're looking for good food, reasonable prices and a different atmosphere! The karaoke is also great... perfect to go with a group of friends!

I really liked Ju Ju. I loved the seating and little slippers in the toilets. The value for money wasn't bad and neither was the sake! I had a great night and they let us bring a cake in for my friend's birthday which was great!!

The service there is absolutly horrifying! You not allow to do this and that, etc. They first put us on the bar table and not letting us to order this and that!! basically we were left with no choice. 2nd visit, the price of the food is way too high for the quality of the food received. Especially with the price we were paying, we should get much better service than that. Sukiyaki is what is famous there but I am sure that we can have better sukiyaki else where better than JuJu. Ambience is alright if you don't mind taking your shoes off. It feels like you are in a Japanese restaurant in Japan. It is alright to try it but be prepare for the bad service, don't expect too much for service.

Walk in, take your shoes off, put them in a plastic bag and to your table where you place your legs under the table. Great atmosphere for any occasion with a bunch of friends and great for gatherings and birthdays. Food is great value for Japanese food and won't break the bank. Food tastes great and also offers late night karaoke.

Food: Good! Service during dinner: Great! And in anticipation of the highlight of the evening....Karoke: thoroughly disappointing!! The "staff" clearly did not want to be there, simply running through the motions. His equally uninspiring assistant orchestrating painful 5 to 10 minute gaps between each song (obviously to minimise the number of songs we could fit in) we very slowly made our way around each tables' contribution. As per one of the earlier reviews - so many rules and regulations especially around the Karaoke, it really took all the fun out of the night. Time for a new staff to inject some enthusiasm back into what could be a great place.

This is a top place to come in a group. The food is really nice but it's the atmosphere that makes for a really cool outing with a group of friends. Great nights to be had!!

I went there with three friends last night (Friday). I concur with what "feed me, Seymour" wrote. The staff are also friendly and the service was quick. In terms of the food, some dishes are better than others but generally most people will enjoy the flavour, and the menu is diversed enough to cater to different tastes. If only they served "real" green tea rather than the diluted green tea that was served (they used very mediocre green tea bags). I like the sunken tables. Great atmosphere for small groups.

This is a very entertaining restaurant, be prepared to go barefoot. First you remove your shoes and place them into a plastic bag provided. Then you get seated at tables built into the floor, complete with room to place your legs into. The entire restaurant is with wooden flooring, and slippers are provided to wade into the bathroom with. The menu is extensive and prices are reasonable which makes this a good place for group dinners. Most dishes are tasty and you must try the steamboat! Karaoke is also available for patrons to pick their songs and join the queue before going on stage to perform. Coupled with hot/cold sake and Kirin beer offered, this can make for some raucous singing! An entertaining night for parties that won't break the lil' piggy bank!!
