Thought we would try this out as its across the road from the State Theatre. It's basically your average 4/5 star hotel restaurant despite the glitzy and up beat web site. We started with oysters and the chicken wrapped in prosciutto - both sublime.
Mains of gnocchi which was particularly stodgy and luke warm and a Sirloin med-well when med-rare was ordered. No desserts but ordered a ristretto and had to tell the waitress what it was and we ended up with a normal short black anyway.
Overall, the food was interesting, well flavoured but for the price, not value for money. Oh and all our plates had hand prints and greasy smears across them.
On the big plus, the entrees and the service, very very attentive.

My wife and I dined there on a friday night and the food was unbelievable. We had eaten there previously about 2 years ago and it was terrible. We decided to give it another shot as it is conveniently located across from the theatre. The tasting plate we had for the entree was fantastic. For mains I had the 700g rib eye on the bone which was finished in their wood fired oven, my wife had the same cooked medium rare perfect. And we both had the Lindt chocolate souffle which was to die for!. We will be back for sure!

Very average and overpriced which is quite common for intentional 4 and 5 star hotel restaurants. Won't be back unless someone else is paying and insists I accompany them. The food doesn't rate a mention.

Nice evening. Have their Swiss Fondue Chinoise specialty with friends and definitely recommend it. This is good fun and tasty and you finish full for just $42 per head. Basically, the fondue chinoise is a buffet (you still have a la carte though). You start with some salad (nothing special but you need it to help you digest) and then they bring 2 hot pots full of broth.
On the buffet you will find pieces of raw fish and seafood and meats and a good mix of sauces. Now the fun, is you'll have to cook everything on your table by poaching your food and enjoying that with the sauces. Sharing the pots, my friends and I had a good fun.
Service was great too with a warm and friendly staff. The wine list was reasonable (mainly Australian et NZ, with a big range of Sparkling wine). Only bad point, the entrance is kind of hidden in Market street and then have to go to level 8 and then find your way in the lobby until the restaurant. But no big deal.

We had our annual work Christmas lunch here and the service was terrible. It was a buffet lunch so drinks service was all the waitstaff had to look after. We had to chase drinks menus and when orders were finally placed, there were long delays. Trays of drinks we dropped round us, etc. Staff were inexperienced or disinterested or both. Food itself was of a good standard but there were limited hot vegetarian options, in fact, the only dish was vegetables.

I am definitely no fan of buffets but a recent Swiss specialty buffet knocked my socks off - a huge feast of authentic goodies for $55 was unbelievable! The salad / cold meats & fish section had a Swiss chef's stamp on it most definitely, and a wintry night was warmed by some marvellous, tasty braised meat dishes with spaetzli and polenta to have with it.
They even had a wheel of raclette cheese to enjoy a true mountain experience in the heart of Sydney! I'm almost ashamed to admit that I left no room for dessert (which included lots of delish looking tarts and a chocolate fondue). Combined with a little traditional music in the background, this was a great experience which made the Swiss amongst us (which I count myself one of) very happy, and I'll certainly be looking for it again around Swiss National Day (Aug 1) time next year. And I'll keep an eye on whatever else they're doing in the meantime because this was really good value for fabulous quality food.

I have visited there twice recently. First time was a New Zealand menu, second time was a lamb & Shiraz menu. They are both fanfastic!! No matter they change the menu often but doesn't disappoint me. Good to have changes. Also value of money, comparing to other hotels in the city. Great!
