We have been celebrating our anniversary at Jonah's for past 3 years. The food is excellent.

Food was extremely expensive for what you got. You are basically paying for the view. Waitress asked us if we wanted water, we asked for still, she brought out sparkling. As it was our anniversary, we decided not to worry. Food was quite basic really (beef on a bed of mashed up carrots and peas) although the menu made it sound like some prize winning anima,l was not worth $45 for this main. Will not be coming here anytime soon.

Highly recommend this stunning restaurant. Meal was fantastic, we had the eight courses degustation menu which was terrific and very good value. Staff were chirpy and knowledgable which was a marked contrast to many city restaurants. Suggest lunch as the view is to die for.

Outstanding View and that is what you pay for. The food is fresh and good quality but menu is boring. Staff are unfriendly and rude. After an hour plus drive, we were rushed through our meal by the staff trying to make second and probably third seating. You don't go to Jonahs for the food. In Sydney there are a vast array of better restaurants but for a great view Jonahs is the place.

The food was a bad "contemporary cuisine' it says' more like something you find in a cooking school. The view is great if you dine during the day but at night it's wasted for the big prices. The only thing is that if this restaurant was in the city, it would be up there with doyles restaurant at watsons bay. How can you serve parmesan with crab!! the person who reviewed this restaurant and give it a hat should be shot. Such a disappointing experience, the service was very basic just wanted to leave but had to try dessert to see if the restaurant had any recovery. Shame that the desserts are very amateur and for such a beautiful building to have very low quality food compared to other fine boutique hotels around the world. Will never return.taffe

I think a lot has changed since George has come into the picture. This restaurant has had a face lift with not only new staff but fabulous renovations! The food is getting better each menu and I'll be surprised if they don't recieve two hats this year.

Never Again!! I took my mother for lunch on her birthday, special occasion (like they care). Left for 15 minuites before anyone acknowledged our existence. Our waitress then appeared to take our order, some pre-lunch drinks would have been nice. We ordered our lunch along with a bottle of champagne. Our entrees arrived in a timley fashion however, our mains arrived when we were only half way through our entrees.
I politley told the waitress that we were not ready for our mains. Against our wishes she placed the mains on the table and advised us to continue eating our oysters along with the mains stating that she "could not take them back to the kitchen because they were already cooked". After making our dissatisfaction known, we were given some complimentary coffees ..Hold me Back!! ..I did not want anything complementary... just wanted to enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Jonah's has an incredible view of Whale Beach and to enjoy the view you should dine during daylight (lunch or early dinner) as I think the seashore will be dark later on. The restaurant is opened but relatively quiet so I never had difficulty in conversation.
Flavoursome food and regular & polite service showed Jonah's is a first class restaurant. I had the lamb sausage (tiny portion but filling in the end), ocean trout (great compliment of flavours and sauce) and panna cotta (light and tasty). My partner had the ricotta-filled zuchini flowers which was perhaps the best dish of the night. Very pricey but well worth a night out.
