This is one of our fave place to eat as a Manly local. Food is priced reasonably, portion is good, atmosphere is good, makes you feel like you are in a real Japanese eating house. Staffs are japanese too. I don't really believe the other comments about bad service, they tend to get busy but we are always accommodated and food is always served promptly.

The staffs give you plenty of space to take your time ordering and the head chef is a friendly man who occasionally finds the time to smile and ask how everything while he is cooking. Have to try this place for value and taste.

Only recently a Manly local, we now pick up Jipang for takeaway at least once a week. The pork with egg on rice is tasty as well as the katsu curry. Portion size is great and the value for money is brilliant.

I wasn't convinced that there was any decent Japanese eateries on the northern beaches until my BF introduced me to this place! Sure, the ambience could be lacking in "Japanese"-ness, but the simple menu and authentic food more than made up for it!

In short, it's great for a lunch visit, value for money, and fast service. Recommend to sit at the bar and treat yourself to a kitchen spectacle.

Poor service and food, once a great restaurant. Strongly advise against going to Jipang. Totally lost it's groove, staff have become rude and dis- interested and disconnected.

Jipang a Manly favorite for sometime, however, with the new management they have really gone backwards. Which is a shame, this once was incredible value for money establishment and were very warm and friendly, and the food was incredible. Sorry to say pre-warning Do not waste your time and effort. Very disappointing, to watch the place go down. I know most locals, will not return.

This place is a true gem on the Northside. its authenticity stems from Japanese owner and all japanese staff. Yes the fit out could be more traditional Japanese (although not every place in Japan is very japanese in fit out), but who cares when the food is great, authentic, fresh and fast. An added bonus if you sit at the bar style seating you can watch the chefs and learn a trick of two. I love practicing my Japanese phrases here as well. Recommend the gyoza, oyakodon, its all good!

Very nice ramen, very Japanese. Great for a quick lunch meal, not so sure I'd go there for a romantic intimate evening out. Kids loved. They were thrilled to be allowed to slurp their noodles! Recommended.

The food is great and it has great atmosphere. Kitchen is open so you can see everything in that place. They are also very professional so, you can feel enough value to pay for your meal. Finally, they are specialised in noodles (ramen).

The food is great, its like being in little Tokyo with the buzzing atmosphere. Been coming here for years and have noticed the prices have gone up and the portions are smaller which is disappointing but if I don't go every week, I'll go every 2nd or 3rd week now. Must try the bento box for a good mix.
