First rate, excellent attitude from management and staff, an overall top beachside dining experience. Dress up or down, an eclectic atmosphere that works. A must for Manly dining out.
This place is amazing. The service is spot on and for some reasons it has become so much better than the last visit about 18 months ago. I heard a new owner is the contributor of the new look and service. You should try it out.
Given the mixed reviews for this restaurant we went with some anxiety. It was unfounded. The historic ferry at Darling harbour is a great venue. The service was fine and hepful when we wanted to have a better table. The food was good.
This used to be the best restaurant outside of Whitewater in Manly. What's changed? Ownership, Chef and Maitre'd. Sad. They used to serve a roasted pork with roasted celeriac and apple sauce that was a standout. Also the scallops dish in the pink buerre blanc was sensational. As good as a similar dish that I have had at Cafe Sydney. Shame. It is now overpriced, underserviced and the food is below par of a cafe but with high restaurant prices. Give it a miss!
The food was very nice but the portion was on the small size. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating and I was able to swap vegetables and change my dish without any problems. Will be going back to try other dishes on the menu.
The food at Jellyfish is great - I have been about 5 times and am yet to be disappointed. What I am not that impressed with is the service. The last time we went we got stuck in the corner and watched as the table down with us arrived 15 mins after us and then receive their drinks, entrees, wine, coffee and bil before us. When I raised it with the head waitress she was very apologetic and removed a couple of items from our bill however it really shouldn't have happened in the first place at somewhere you are paying $30 for a main.
Ambience is ok -nothing unbelievable, but the huge candles on each table are a nice touch.
Have done brunch here a few times mid week and it has been pleasant because we have been out the front. I have done a Sunday brunch and was seated deep inside, so it became noisy and slow service. Good food, not bad prices and enjoyable mid week. Watch the weekend crush.
Not sure if it is just me but my experiences at Jellyfish have typically involved too much noise, too many people, mediocre food and a right bill at the end of it all. Seems like you either love it or hate it.
We had visited JF for breakfast and on several occasions were not impressed. We went for dinner with a friend and hoped things would be different. The mains were delicious by all accounts, however, the overall entree choices and serves were disappointing. Service was very mediocre and took us over two and half hours to be served our mains (they weren't even half full.) We ordered drinks that did not arrive and the service staff had attitude when we followed up. Will not be going back no matter how tasty the meals were.
