Jane's Thai is worth a look, especially if you're a local. The food is fresh and delicious. Plus, when you walk in, there are countless Buddhist books on display. Need I say more? Come here for food, and come here for Zen! Jane cooks delicious food with love.

I have eaten a number of meals at Jane's, mostly because it is a block from my home and it is sometimes just convenient to grab a dish there late at night.

The restaurant itself is not particularly prepossessing: I suppose it's not the worst place to dine if one had to. It is clean and well-lit, though adorned with trinkets associated with Jane's religious interests (I am not sure what they are and I have not asked). The food itself is quite mediocre. She has unerring ability to make any meat she cooks dry and chewy. She serves out-of-the-bottle salad dressings. In short, she phones it in.

That in itself is not a crime: greasy spoons come everywhere. They even do one or two dishes fairly well (the coconut rice, for example, is nice). What grates on the nerves and probably limits my patronage to once a month or so is the self-advertisement as the place and its cooking as something special. It is not. Jane advertises how she puts her special touch on every dish to give it its excellent quality. She even advertises cooking lessons! There is such a thing as hubris.

The food is also frankly not helped by the fact that Jane is assisted by a waiter who is not terribly versant in English (that puts it mildly). That's not such a problem when you go in to order or pick up, but when ordering over the phone, it can often be a trial. To be fair, when you order over the phone, the meal is usually ready in 10-15 minutes.

In sum, Jane's is nothing special. And if it were in an area in town with more competition, it would also be out of business.

Plain, tasteless, overpriced food. You would do better with a frozen dinner.

The service is surly but the ingredients are fresh as can be! Bit pricey but good servings and great taste make up for it.

Sensational. Outstanding Thai food with genuine flavours and is plainly cooked with a lot of love. A real local Secret. Long live Jane!!

Jane runs a plainly furnished local cafe with good Thai food at very reasonable prices. Much of the business is take away - one does not come here for the ambience but for friendly service and food at very moderate prices.
