Had terrible service last night. Was asked if ready to order, before being given menus. Had to chase for our food after waiting 20 minutes or more. A glass of 'red wine' that was delivered was full of coins (they delivered the tip jar to the table instead of a glass of wine). The replacement glass of Red Wine, was Rose. They replaced the Rose with Red, but when I got th ebill they had charged for both Rose and Red wines. And made me feel bad for feeling uncomfortable at the dreadful service.
If you like lots of BEER then this might be the place for you. The beer list is long and on the night I happened to eat here, the list of unavailable beers seemed just as long. I wasn't paying attention as I don't drink beer but it sounded all too complicated for me. I just wanted a meal.
Food was mediocre at best and they took their time as well. Lamb Shanks (not bad), Kangaroo (looked hideous) and Beef Ribs (very sweet and BBQ-ey). Ambience-wise, it is set up like a pub so it was noisy (Friday night) and outside, it was so cold even with the heaters.
The bill was close to $200 for 4 people and we only ordered 4 mains, 1 entree, 1 salad, 1 sparkling water, 2 Becks and a glass of crappy Rose. Not exactly value for money either. How sad.
Dropped in for lunch because it was a beautiful Sydney afternoon. Might be OK if all we had wanted was beer. The food was over priced, the wine list average. The afternoon was beautiful and we enjoyed the view, but there are plenty of other places on the harbour that do this better. Won't be back.
My burger was cold, while all accompanying elements were ok. When I complained, I was told that was impossible because the burger would've come straight off the grill... No apology, no offer of a refund. The only thing that will keep me coming here is the beer.
Disgusted by the attitude of the staff. we waited over 1 hour for our lunch and were told that we weren't the only ones who waited for so long that we should just cop it because that was the way they do business. Will be cancelling countless lunches there, the boys in our team love the beer. Spend your hard earned dollars elshwere.
Had a sensational night, service was exceptional, wine was top notch and the chicken caesar and half ribs were great. I couldn't fault the night, all 4 people had a night to remember and will return in the near future. Thank you James Squire.
Very good experience all round, especially with the size and yummy nature of the steak and chips. The prices were a tad high. However, you do expect higher prices for King Street Wharf though.
