Inspired by Mediterranean Coffee Culture, the newly opened espresso bar, Ithaka Kafeneion is a sassy update of the traditional Greek kafeneion (coffeehouse) and zaharoplasteion (pastry/cake shop).

Great coffee and service. Try the Greek beef pattie, tzatziki, Greek salad and pita bread. Make sure you try the Greek freddo coffee as well. Sit back and think of Santorini!

Ithaka Kafeneion definitely has the best frappe in Sydney. Actually, there are many wonderful little touches at this cafe. Check out the great Hellenic inspired sandwiches. And the service is great too.

Love, love, love! Perfect Coffee and delicious Frappe's, authentic Greek food, wonderful conversation! My only wish is that it was open in the evenings for authentic Greek dinners and ouzo!

Service this good and this attentive is hard to find, the owners of this cafe are a delight and make this place extra special. The coffee is great especially for those who enjoy the delicious Greek cold coffees - freddos and frappes. Cakes and pastries are prepared by the owner and her family, and are also delicious - especially the spanakopita, which was as good as any I have had in Greece. Whatever you do, don't go past the sour cherries in syrup!

If you are tired of the standard coffee and muffin type cafes, this is a really nice change. Have been working my way through the Greek sweets on offer and yet to be disappointed. A nice weekend hang-out or quick pick-me-up during the week.

It's great to finally find a Sydney cafe that serves a great espresso time and time again. The sweets are also very tempting and luscious. The bougatsa (cream filled pastry) and loukoumia (Greek version of Turkish delights) are my favourite so far. Very chic, warm and inviting environment that is enjoyable and pleasing to the eye. The service is friendly and efficient, this gorgeous Greek Kafeneion has won me.

What a lovely find. A nice refuge from the buzz of Potts Point. Coffee was good and the spanakopita light and delicious. Definitely need to come back and try the cakes.

Not great, friand was stale, coffee burnt and no ambience. Will stick to my regular spot on challis ave.

Theres nothing like Ithaka in Sydney. It definitely fills the gap. Great traditional Greek coffee, delicious frappes etc. Creative cutlery, stylish decor, yummy pastries and warm, friendly service. I am excited that there is a cafe offering something different and exciting to your normal cafes, worth visiting.

Great to see a funky update of the old Greek kafeneion. The coffee is fresh and strong and the food, especially, the spanakopita and kolokithopita is fantastic.
