Nicely decorated in neo Japanese kitsch, it strikes the diner as authentic with ever-present posters for Japanese beers and baseball teams. The Sushi Bar is small but cosy, but the restaurant is quite large and accommodating. All the staff are native to the land of the rising sun, and the chef can be heard barking orders in Japanese. It is a fully licensed club, complete with pokies and you will need to sign in at the door as you would at an RSL. Friendly. Charming. Authentic. Fantastic.

If you are nostalgic for a country town RSL club then you will enjoy the International Nippon Club. There is more atmosphere on the moon than in this windowless basement dining room. The menu is rather limited e.g. no noodles.
We had the pork belly entree which seemed to be steamed. It was OK. The tempura was acceptable but the batter could have been a bit lighter. The lamb cutlets were nicely cooked but the basil sauce seemed a bit random. The draught VB was pretty flat.
For the same price you could eat better at many other Japanese restaurants in Sydney and they would have some atmosphere. Won't be returning.

Not traditional Japanese food but very good. Izakaya dining and prices very good. Interior needs some improvement.

Once you get to the door, don't be put off by the decor, the musty-smell, the RSL look; keep walking to the dining room towards the back to eat some of the yummiest Japanese food in Sydney. When we got here at 6.30, the place was empty bar a few stragglers. That soon changed and we realised how lucky we were to grab a table without a booking. Sashimi, tofu and tempura highly recommended.

Excellent place to eat reasonably priced Japanese food in the city. The restaurant is spacious and carpeted so is not too noisy. I'm no expert on Japanese cuisine so I can't say how authentic the food is, but every dish my party of seven ate was enjoyed. Perhaps, there could be more options for vegetarians. The club does not appear to be wheelchair-accessible, and my 84 year old mother struggled with the stairs.

The restaurant space is with Club/bar area. Floor is red carpeted with a slight musty smell, which reminds me of old 'Snack' bar in Japan. Good lunch with reasonable price. Over the counter, there are many Japanese items which you can spend sometime to enjoy. Shame they don't open on weekends.

A girl friend took me to the restaurant two weeks ago. I have to say you can't find many (or maybe none) Japanese restaurants serve quality food like Nippon Club. Their menu is very different from other typical Japanese restaurant.
The mentaiko spaghetti, tender pork and beef tataki are awesome. Further, the food is not pricey and definitely worth the money. The place is a bit run down but it's not too bad. The waitress is very attentive and polite. I went back again the following week with another group of friends. They love it too!

Decided to check this place out yesterday. The decor is a little old but it gives out a friendly atmosphere. Food was fabulous. We had sashimi, sushi and beef Tataki and they were surprisingly good. All the fish was very fresh and well cut. This place does reminds me of the normal Japanese Izakaya dining.
It's a little pricy given the decor and the amount served. You'd probably be charged about half the price in Japan. However, this is one of the best you can get in Sydney CBD if you are into authentic Japanese taste.

I just love this place. Food is really great, and chef is very funny (that is if you can talk to him in Japanese). If the price was cheaper I would go there every week.
