It's always crowded which is a good sign. The food was well good. You can tell the cook is paying attention. For instance the eggplant was just right and not overdone. Most dishes are true to its origin and not adapted to local taste. We paid $79 for 5 and that included desserts.

Walked in on a relatively quiet night, was not attended to for 5 minutes. A free waiter saw my party (4 people), then turned away.
Staff were unable to understand basic english when prompted with simple questions (e.g. does this dish have nuts?). Was then charged with an additional meal which was not ordered. There was no drinks menu, even though there is a fridge behind the counter filled with drinks. (cans, bottles etc). Was given water with mugs (not cups), had a lot of stains. Then ordered a can of coke, which had an unknown brown substance on the opening.
Food was average, the fried chicken tastings bit old (you can tell it was not fresh). Noodles and rice dishes were substantial, but not outstanding. Would never come again, and would highly un-recommend.

One of the best indonesian food in Sydney, as Indonesian I should say, not many restaurant has a nice chilli, but Indo Rasa nailed it! love the nasi komplit with the hot chilli servings! the traditional indonesian cake that they sell near the register table is also awesome, should try them.. even though they are more expensive than average indo restaurant, but the service, ambience and food are good. Ps: do not try the bakmi, its not that good.

I can't believe I have not come here before. This little gem ha opened here for a few years and serves beautiful indo food. Lovely decor and great atmosphere. Plenty of locals where eating out. Had the recommended lemongrass chicken with coconut rice and beef rendang. Really great flavours and not too overwhelming for my palate. We made a good choice with our picks. Great selection of sweets at the counter as well what looked like different types of chips already pre packed for you. Could not believe the price under $25 for two? Took the receipt just in case no one believed me! I'm already planning on coming back to show this place off!

Had a quick lunch here and was trying to go slow with the carbs so got the Ayam Goreng (fried chicken) and the Pepes Teri (anchovies wrapped in banana leaf and grilled). The Pepes Teri was a little dry but still enjoyed it and the fried chicken (thigh and drumstick) was good especially with the hot sambal they served on the side.
I had visited last year too and had the Nasi Kuning Komplit last time (rice with a bunch of sides including sambal and beef rendang) but the rendang was quite dry. I liked the food better this time but my friend still thought the rendang was too dry.

Came down here on Boxing day with the family (5 of us). Being one of the only Indonesian restaurant that opened, I'm aware that they will be flogged. Yes we have to wait for a table, and yes we saw these couple with their pram just jump the queue and sit down on a big table (that could fit 6 people) and the waiter has to apologise to us about this (and since it's still Christmas period, I forgive them).
We finally got a table and was able to order the food. The food was a bit late but it was all worth the wait. Sauce was great, the Ayam bakar was nicely grilled (not burnt like the one they serve across the road). The fish was the best dish of the day!
So in the end, we are happy with our decision to wait. The downside? The place can be too noisy and too hot (looks like one of the AC is broken - our guess).
PS: The group who jumped the queue end up leaving the restaurant before ordering any food and then we end up moved to the big table. Guess you have to learn to follow the rule sometime, eh?

We went to this restaurant for the first time, it was full house. We were not served in the first five minutes. I had to approach the reception for the menu. The person at the reception said sorry for not noticing us. Waited for the waitperson to take orders, none of the four staff on the floor noticed that we were ready to order.
I went to the reception again to tell them that we are ready to order, while observing the wait staffs looking tired and lost, running into the kitchen and back out to attend to their patrons. While waiting to be served at the reception, I heard them saying that many guests are still waiting for their food to be served. This time I decided to leave the restaurant and go somewhere else. I would never go back.

I went there on the weekend. The food was actually great for Indonesian foods. I ordered the Nasi Rames, and it's pretty good, and big portion with that value, totally worth it. What I dislike is the noise level in the restaurant. I literally have to speak so loud and it feels like I'm in the pub/bar.

We normally go to Shalom in Kingsford when we feel like Indo food until we saw Indo Rasa just across the road. We ordered what we normally would at Shalom. A satay and rice for my toddler son. A couple of grilled chicken and a gado2 and es campur for dessert. We must say Shalom's grilled chickens are well-marinated and tastier. Shalom's gado2 is also more peanuty. The decor is nicer at Indo Rasa until I had to go to the toilet past the kitchen. I'd expect it's not as messy as what I saw.
Overall it's not bad but unless we want to try something else, we'd stick to Shalom.
